There's a lot to dislike about Covid, but for me right now, the most annoying thing is that mild symptoms are basically indistinguishable from other shit I deal with on the regular.

Like... Is this Covid giving me post-nasal drip, or is it my spring pollen allergies in full swing?

Is it Covid that's giving me indigestion, or is it just my extra-sensitive garbage gut acting up because I ate something that was slightly too old?

Is this fatigue I'm feeling Covid-related, or is it just because I'm neurodivergent and stressed all to hell?

Am I sore because of Covid, or because I'm in my mid-thirties and work a physically demanding job? (Not a huge worry recently, since I've been off the past three days and don't expect to be back at work until June 1st at the earliest, but one that has bothered me in the past.)

How safe do I play it? All of these things could conceivably be happening without Covid, and I'm not sure I'd notice if they're only a little bit worse than normal. Do I assume that they're all symptoms and report as such, or do I assume I'm asymptomatic and go back to work on Wednesday? The safest bet would be to assume they're symptoms and stay home the full ten days, but I still have doubts plaguing me about the Covid test I took being actually positive in the first place.

I am probably at least going to take another Covid test tonight, to hopefully get my brain to shut up about whether the one that canceled my weekend plans was "real" or not. That might at least help me decide re: symptoms.

Edit: Okay, this most recent test is a different brand than the one from Wednesday, and I gotta say, props to whoever made the directions: Including actual photos of positive results was definitely the way to go. Made me more confident about that other test being positive, even if they're not the same kind of test strip.

That's the worst! When you want to run out and do something but you know you shouldn't.

I do have an at-home test. Alex took one earlier and his was negative, but I really should take one, too. (And I'm not completely sure my boss DID actually take a test, or if he was just "sure" it wasn't Covid.)
