Just wanted to say, with the most celebratory icon at my disposal:

Last night (well, technically ~12:15 this morning), I crocheted the final square of my Tetris blanket. I spent today attaching the floating squares to each other and, in turn, the main piece of the blanket itself.

I have two rows remaining; all the individual squares are attached in row formation, I have only to stitch the rows to the end of the blanket.

I took on a huge project at the beginning of the month, and by the end of my birthday, I think it's safe to assume that I will have thoroughly asserted my authority over its buttocks. Hells yeah :Db

Squares: 396/396
Rows: 21/22
Total Complete: ~98%

(I also donated blood yesterday, with my fastest time yet: four minutes, fifty-six seconds from the time I was poked 'til the time I filled the bag. My average iron levels may be for shit, but donation time? No problem!)

Anywho, sleep now, birthday and blanket pictures tomorrow. Peace ¦3b

Congratulations! It always feels like it takes approximately forever for me to finish a blanket, so I'm definitely impressed.

Thanks ^__^ This one probably would've taken way longer than a month if I wasn't doing it instead of NaNo. And technically I've still got the level and the score and stuff to add, not to mention the fleece backing, but I figure that counts as editing in this analogy.

I have never knitted a blanket, but I have given blood and wow, you have an accomplished circulatory system! (usually takes me 20-30 minutes!)

LOL! Though, for the record, if you said you never knitted a blanket either, I'd still believe you ;)

My average used to be around the typical average of ten minutes or so. Either my body's gotten the message and knows what to do when I get poked, or it's the ~12oz+ of fluid I started drinking before heading to donate.

Thanks ^__^ Plush things are usually my forte, as you may have guessed, but this was a nice change of pace. Don't know if I'm going to do it again next year or not; November is hella busy either way, but it was a lot of fun, and I have been thinking about making a Triforce blanket entirely out of triangle-motifs...

I'm starting to think November is a lousy month for a huge project, though. *laugh* It was all kinds of busy for me, too, and as a result I got perhaps a quarter of the way through NaNo (and never did manage to post any teasers, bleh).

A triangle-based Triforce blanket would be -awesome-.

I would be horribly tempted to make Sierpinski's Gasket-style nesting designs, but that is probably actually an awful amount of work, so we can count that as the thoughts of a person who doesn't know the limitations of the medium. *amused*

November is a terrible month for huge projects, IMO. It doesn't help that my parents want me to make our Xmas card and my mom's birthday is also at the end of the month, and then there's the Xmas presents I need to make on top of that... If I do decide to do something next year, I'll just switch to September. It's still thirty days, so it's still good!

So awesome, yes. I've been looking into triangle motifs over the past year specifically for that. Someday...!

Awevsdlk. Okay, that could technically be about the same amount of work, provided the same number of ~~squares~~ triangles is involved, though keeping track of things would be a bit trickier. So horribly tempted +_+

Haha, yeah. I have three nieblings that have birthdays between November and mid-January, and I just don't make my own cards any more. And I am SO not doing a jewelry-making-o-rama this year to come up with presents. >.<

Yeah, my brother's birthday is January 14, so as soon as Xmas gifts are done, it's time to start something new =_= It's like: Birthday, Xmas x 3, Birthday, ???, Profit. Except without the last two steps. At least this year I didn't have to make the Quire flyer, even if I am on card duty.

Cookies are great.

A friend of mine asked a few weeks ago if I were capable of making a Sierpinski cube. I answered yes, because I'm fairly confident in my ability to make just about anything out of crochet, but whoever wanted it would have to pay me a fuckload of money for me to do it :P Something more easily expressed in two dimensions sounds much more appealing.

Waaaaaaah. November looks worse and worse.
And I really can't do September because that's con month, and the previous two months are usually taken up with mad-science-like flailing about as I try to prepare cosplay, and... yikes.

If I ever want to have a coherent webcomic, I think I'm going to have to not have a job, or lose a hobby or three, is where I'm going with that thought.

A crocheted Sierpinski cube would be frickin' awesome, though. XD
(But can I saw-pierce one and solder it..? No. Nonononononono. No I cannot. No.)

Underemployment is probably the only reason that blanket got finished, not gonna lie -_-
Yeah, cons and con-prep would definitely put a wrench in the works. Well, there's twelve months in a year, and even though they don't all have just (or as many as) thirty days, surely there's one that would work...

Hahaha, yeah ¦3; Not that I wouldn't mind another Riot Nrrd or two on the 'net, but knowing one's limits is a good feminist practice, IMO.

Oh man, would it ever! If I ever find someone to sponsor it, I'm going to town on that thing.

Arrgh. Sympathies; I've been there and it sucked. (But I sure did get a lot of drawing done.)

I really enjoy Riot Nrrd.

Surely there's one. Somewhere. I shall have to look into that more, assuming I'm going to get myself in gear instead of finding a zillion other things to do. (Which is valid, too.) But like you say, there are indeed Other Things To Do.
