Step One
- Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your journaling platform. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friends friends, or just random journals, or
holiday_wishes/
wish_list) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
Copy-Paste the rules for Dreamwidth:
My wishlist:
1) Paid time on Dreamwidth; I've really been wanting to renew my account for a while now, but finances are a little tight on my end, so I don't know how soon it's going to happen.
2) The first Stellvia DVD. I managed to find all the other ones at Half Price Books a while back, but without the first it's not very effective. Especially since I've been watching a lot of stuff dubbed recently, so I don't have to be staring at the screen the whole time; I mean, I miss some stuff this way, but it helps me get crochet work done, so.
3) A second Nintendo DS. Heck, as long as I'm dreaming, why not a 3DS? I want to be able to trade with myself or transfer Pokémon at the drop of a hat, mostly. [/wishful thinking] (...Alternately, if anyone is up for commissioning me for about the price of one of the above, I'd totally be up for that. Hell, any of 1 through 3.)
4) Yarncrafted wrist warmers. My workspace is in the basement, and it's generally about ten degrees cooler down here than it is on the first floor.
5) Something (art or fic) Rose/Kanaya featuring Aeschynanthus Radicans (images: scroll down) It is my favorite plant and they are my favorite ship and if one or both of them wouldn't be charmed by a flower that looks like a tube of lipstick before it opens, then I would be quite surprised. I am only disappointed that the flowers don't resemble chainsaws upon opening. Also, being a hanging plant, it tends to droop tentacles over the sides of whatever it's been planted in. Tell me it would not fit right in. Just try.
6) Something (art or fic) sweet and fluffy for any of my fandoms. Especially if it's poly.
7) Anyone familiar with the early D*sney release of Kiki's Delivery Service? I'd love to have a copy of the songs from that. Or from the re-release, where they kept(?) the Japanese songs and dropped some of dub!Gigi's lines, but I really stressed my VHS copy out trying to memorize the lyrics from the English songs, and the new dub is just missing that extra nostalgia bump from being changed and not having them.I totally filked that first one for Digimon back in the day, I won't deny it.
8) A Snivy of my own. Or two; I wouldn't object to having one in each game.
9) Fic or art for Heart-Pounding Excitement at Mononoke Girls' Academy. It's one of my favorites, and I don't wanna be the only person I know who's done anything fannish for it :(
10) A good mac-n-cheese recipe or two. Or some rice cooker recipes. Or egg bake recipes. Bonus points if they're high in iron/can include spinach.
And now, with that done, link me to yours! Or make yours and then link me over. Or not, whatever. I'll have my contact info up in a little bit, if you actually feel like sending me something physical.

White: Socchan - 2193 7039 4521
Anything in particular you'd like? I've got a fair number of Pokémon with dreamworld abilities I could breed, and I started with Tepig and Oshawott, respectively.

Date: 2011-12-20 01:05 am (UTC)I've got a Starly ready on White, and a Rufflet (and several dreamworld options) tucked away on my PC; I don't have anything in particular on Black, unless you'd be interested in a Tropius (male) with harvest.

Date: 2011-12-09 07:13 pm (UTC)Meanwhile, mix a thing of sour cream with a cup of flour and maybe a little salt? until you have a pastry-ish mix. Take a buttered-and-flour-dusted pan and spread the pastry mix flat on it.
Strain the spinach(careful, it's frikkin' hot) to get as much water out as possible. If you want to mix in a bit of salt, this is probably a good time.
Make a tube-roll of the spinach on one half of the pastry, and fold the other half over to cover. Pinch the edges closed. Take one egg-yellow and spread on top.
Bake at, uh... 350? for, uhm. Until brown/baked, I think about 10-20 min.? No more than half-an-hour. XD;;; I can track down the actual measures and quantities and temperatures and times if you're interested in this recipe. XD;;
And of course there's always spinach and egg (and cheese and tomato and mushroom and anything else you want) quiche, which is easy to the max, especially if you don't bother with a crust. I can never stand the pre-made crusts anyway - always too sweet.

Date: 2011-12-17 09:07 pm (UTC)Both of those sound wonderful, if you have the recipes available :) Actual measurements would be great, since I have no instinct when it comes to eyeing stuff in that I haven't made a million times - and even then it can be hit-or-miss.
