One major and very important difference between jobs that are mostly done sitting down and jobs that are mostly done standing, I think, is that it tends to be easier to find an excuse to stand up and stretch or walk around at the former than it is to find the opportunity or even the means to sit down and rest for a few minutes at the latter.
