Welp, I'm done in! I managed to get the usual recs post up at
queerly_beloved, but other than that I'm trying not to be too ambitious for the rest of the night. Not that there's much of it left before bed time š
Work was a bit more intense than I thought it was going to be today; I swear I remember the last Thanksgiving I worked being nice and quiet, but I guess people really are ignoring the hell out of Covid these days, because the hotel restaurant was hopping. I ended up staying later than scheduled of my own volition, which honestly will help with an upcoming car repair bill. Still, I'm looking forward to being satisfyingly lazy on Saturday!
The audiobook for the first volume of "I'm in Love With the Villainess" was released last week, and I finally finished listening to it today! Honestly, the first chapter or so continues to be a barrier for me, with Rae's behavior being more than a little mystifying to me, even having read the first two books before. Still, sticking through it was plenty rewarding, and I am very eagerly anticipating the second audiobook's release in (IIRC) December.
I think that's it for now! I still intend to copy over my two latest Dreamwidth Propaganda posts over here at some point, but probably not tonight. I think reading and sleep will be on the agenda after my night time "getting ready for bed" routine (though also some more internet surfing, because I am not here to kid myself).
Edit: Oh, that's right! Another not-for-tonight project, I think I've come up with a way to basically mimic Tumblr's "Ask blogs" on Dreamwidth and mean to test the idea out, but someone else might already have it covered. So I'm noting that down here to remind myself to check and/or post about it.

Date: 2023-11-24 05:39 pm (UTC)Iām very curious about the ask posts thing - Iād love to link an option like that from my website/Tumblr/etc. as an option rather than having asks enabled on Tumblr.

Date: 2023-11-25 06:32 am (UTC)It'll depend entirely on whether mods can modify posts that users submit to communities beyond just changing like. Security levels and such? Which, now that I think about it, is seeming less likely š¤¦āāļø The things my brain tricks me into when I'm just trying to sleep, I tell ya...
My idea was:
Person who wants to do the answering hosts a public community
Community allows posts by non-members, but all posts are moderated
Person examines posts and shares the posts they want to answer, with the answer added onto/into the post in question (and deletes/refuses posts they don't want to answer?)
If this works, and I'm now pretty sure it doesn't, I think it would allow the closest approximation to how ask blogs work on Tumblr, with the exception that it doesn't allow for anonymous "asks". But I'm sure not all Tumblr Ask blogs do, either.
A workaround might be to do all of the above, but to prepare a response to put in a comment before allowing the post through, and posting the comment immediately after making the post live. Or allowing the post through moderation but making it private, adding the comment, then making the post (and subsequent comments) public.
An advantage here is that it might allow for multiple RP-ers to respond to posts, separately or together; just gotta make the other "Answer" accounts into Administrators.
As you can see, I'm still working out the bugs š
