Apparently the people we called about the furnace accidentally deleted our service call? So we're back in line again. And this is after they apparently didn't get the messages we left on Sunday (the first day the furnace went out) to get us in line earlier on Monday.
Like, I still aim to be the kind of customer who makes sure the tradespeople who work for them are fed and watered (I picked up some disposable styrofoam cups that I can send with them and hope to have a kettle on for tea and/or hot chocolate, and also to bake some muffins and/or cookies), but at this point a small part of me is doing it to drive home a tiny little drop of guilt and/or attempt to bribe more desirable behavior in the future. "Hey, it looks like Socchan's house is on the list! We should be sure to get there as soon as we can, there's usually free cookies there!"
I am not above using my skills for evil/selfishness in this way.

Date: 2024-01-18 03:18 am (UTC)Alas, they were not able to be here today; tomorrow is looking like the lucky number(?). I sure as hell hope that they'll be able to fix our furnace, or at least get it into something resembling working order until we can get a new one installed. (They told us last year that they flat-out can't get the parts for our furnace anymore, and while I really, really hope that we can get this one fixed long enough to have a bit of wiggle room in picking a new one, I also think that this is a really damn clear "Time to get a new furnace!" sign.)
