Possible to-do list for Tumblr

0) Find out everything I can about the AI situation

1) Use the built-in site tools to back up my sideblog, art-deco-shrimp
2) Create a second sideblog and post all of the drafts I've been sitting on to it
3) Use the built-in site tools to back up that sideblog
4) Change the frequency of my queued posts to once an hour until I run out
5) Use internet tools to back up my main Tumblr account once my queue has run dry
6) Copy-paste any short stories I've reblogged to a separate document, since I don't know how backups interact with "read more" breaks
7) Move some of the posts from Art Deco Shrimp over here
8) Mourn

Not all of these are necessarily in order, though some of them definitely are. I imagine that 8 might be happening simultaneously with all of them, and honestly it's mostly because the background mourning I was anticipating doing over the next two months seems to have been rushed into happening all at once instead.

This isn't how I wanted it to end.

It's like... I found out there was a glitter bomb in the website. It had a timer of two months, and in that two months it would be possible, but not guaranteed, to defuse it, so I had time to make sure I had everything in order and get my stuff out of there for the worst case scenario. There's rumors of a stink bomb also in the website, but we're all under the assumption that it's on the same timer as the glitter bomb, or a longer timer, because why wouldn't it? Surely the person who set the bombs is going to want to participate in the explosions to the fullest extent possible, if possible.

And then the stink bomb goes off just a few days after I find out about the glitter bomb. Sure, I can still get all of my stuff out of the website, and it's possible to de-stink it, but the website itself may never be stink-free again. And while I still care about the glitter bomb (I sincerely doubt it's biodegradable glitter), I don't know if I can stand the stink enough to stick around and see whether it's still even possible to defuse the glitter bomb.



On the plus side, moodthemeinayear is going great, and responding to posts has done wonders to distract me from the whole Tumblr mess and to lift my mood. I think it may be time for me to color some more rats.

Yeah... it seemed like the sort of thing there was time to prepare for, and then *whooooooops* never mind!

It certainly makes it a lot harder to hope that it's worth sticking things out for any greater length of time, particularly when it was already feeling a bit up in the air.

I'm very glad that the mood theme comm and event is going so well! Your little rats are a delight!

My sympathies to you and everyone else dealing with this unexpected reveal. I hope you're able to wrangle a satisfactory conclusion out of it.

Yeah, this situation bites. Luckily, this upcoming week isn't So Much Stuff piled on top of itself (with days off being relegated to recovery days), so I should personally be able to deal with it better, but still. This has been A Lot!

What with everything, I'm pretty sure I'm glad to have the excuse to spend more time on Dreamwidth.
