Ah. So. Um.

I have just been officially gifted a whoooole bunch of Dreamwidth points to reward as I see fit to participants at moodthemeinayear, just to encourage more creativity and participation and stuff. With instructions to ask for more if I run out, and also to encourage anyone who makes a qualifying mood theme to consider submitting it to be site-supported. (And also I'm maybe being informally recruited to be the/an official Dreamwidth mood theme uploader person???)

I need. To take some time to think about how I would award these points.

(Initial idea: One month of paid time for anyone who completes just the Minimum Track, three months for anyone who completes the Medium Track, and one year for anyone who completes the Maximum Track, but like. Given that the community is supposed to be low-stress and low-pressure and allow participants to drift in and out, maybe I should instead do "One month of paid time for each Part/eighteen moods completed"? And then throw in some bonus paid time for anyone who completes the Maximum Track and/or submits a mood theme to be site-supported? Hrrrmmmmm...)

Thanks 🥰😁 I'm happy to report that yes, I am allowed to award paid time to people who make fannish mood themes/personal mood themes, and not just mood themes that could be used by the site!

Right now I'm thinking:

1 month for every 18 mood images made (I'm almost 100% on this one right now)

Bonus time for certain landmarks (like one extra month for if they finish the Medium Track or equivalent, and three to six extra months if they finish the whole 132)

A bonus month (or up to three months?) if they submit a mood theme for consideration as site-supported and it's accepted

They just have to be able to share at least one image of their completed moods, even if it's a screencap or something via DM if they're not comfortable posting to the comm or sharing on their journal, so I can check things off

If they already have a paid account, they can get more time/points, or they can spend the points on someone else of their choosing/ask me to do the same on their behalf

I feel like that covers most stuff, while also still allowing for flexibility. I do need to decide if I'm going to put limits on it, like "Limit of 1 year of paid time earned per year" or something. That sounds pretty reasonable, right?

Congratulations on the new responsibilities, and on just finishing another mood theme yourself! I'm interested to see where this leads you, and what might become available on this site (maybe you could suggest a cat mood theme?), but above all, have lots of fun with it, I'd say!

Thank you 😊 I'm just generally very flattered over this, and also excited. And honestly, while I was thinking for a while I just needed to volunteer for another convention, this feels like exactly what I need to fill the hole that was left after quitting AnimeIowa. I'm participating in making a thing I love better for people! And that's such a good feeling!
