Prince Ichi stuff...

Managed to finish and upload two pages today (pages 11 and 20, respectively). Almost got page 12 done, but the library had to close. The actual coloring is finished, but I still need to put in the text and save it as jpeg.
It's been like that since I started the project over half a year ago. The very first page I drew was the last one. Of course, after that I drew the then first and second pages, but along the road I became dissatisfied with them and scrapped them in favor of newer ones. (That happens a lot, actually.)
When I'd started the project for school, only the first ten pages had been finished in order. (There are actually quite a few more that are ready to scan now, and one of my goals is to have the entire thing penciled and scanned by Nov. 16.) It remained like that for quite a while as I was busy working on the computer aspect of it. It took about a week before I finally got it through my head that, no matter how hard I worked, I wouldn't be able to finish illustrating the whole story for my class project. I managed to get away with just the first ten pages pretty easily, though. I was one of the first people in class finished, and I had all my work done by the pre-set deadline. The actual deadline had to be moved back about a week ^^; but I ended up getting free time on the computer.
One of the pages I had ready at the innitial scanning was page twenty. (of course, at the time I'd mis-counted it as nineteen ^^;) I'd scanned through what I'd thought was page eleven--though now it turned out to be page twelve; part of the miscount was that I had yet to _draw_ page eleven. (There was a whole lot of text on that page, too, but I was too lazy to make another page and split the text between the two of them. Besides, I only barely managed an image for the second half; I was _stumped_ for the first half of the designated paragraph.) There was an unfortunate incident at lunch when the then-page-11 didn't save right, and I had to move on to my other page option if I wanted to keep working, which was page twenty. Finished it up today, and got through page fourteen scanned yesterday so I could start work on them.
Managed to finish up page eleven (real one this time) not too long after page twenty. Twenty was a bitch to color, too, with all the fiddly little details I'd snuck in the penciled version. Eleven was much easier. (Tried to aim for something vaguely rust-gold-crisanthemum-y for the flower (because I found it amusing to do so), but don't know how well I did really. In the end, I'm just thankful that it's from the same family as 'daisy'.)
Almost managed to finish up page twelve. It was surprisingly easy to do, considering it involves a window and a relfection on said window in addition to being able to see _through_ said window. I just lassooed everything for the reflection, soft-light filled with 50% oppulance (hope I got that right) and didn't worry about too many little things, like outlining clothing folds. It turned out pretty well, which is a _good_ thing, since page thirteen _also_ involves a window-reflection-view thing. (Whee, making life easier for myself!) All that's left is to put in the text, re-size and re-save. Then I can move on to page thirteen and fourteen. (Point of interest: the roughs for fourteen and fifteen were drawn on my Europe trip after I'd finally gotten my hands on some of the Detektiv Conan manga for art reference.)
I'm just short of having all the pages through twenty-five ready to scan; I still have to finish fifteen and actually draw sixteen. After that, though, I'm peachy.
Photoshop makes my life _so_ much easier; I need my own copy so I can stop relying on the school facilities for my fanartist needs.
In other news, this week has been the Week From Hell. ("Zadar: Week From Hell! Coming to a theatre near you!" /bad Zadar reference) I have so much that I need done by Friday it's not even funny. Also, I definately do not appreciate the irony of me not understanding how to come up with a thesis for a literary essay because it's what I've been doing for fan fic divergences for so many years now. Give me a few months, and I just might. Or at least until I have to write another lit essay. And I'm not even going to get into Nov 3rd, so don't try to bring it up.
