I got a shiny new bo staff on Saturday ^___^. It's made from Rock Maple, and it's really pretty ^_^ <3. I think I will nick-name it, and all subsequent bos, Nyoi-Bo ^_^ <3 <3 <3.
I will rain unholy justice down upon the first person to make any comment along the lines of 'baka-saru'. Using Nyoi-Bo-chan.
I named my previous bo 'Thunder', but it wasn't made with the best wood ^^;. So when I was sparring one day, it went SNAP! *crack* And a foot-long piece from the top fell off and thumped on the floor. Sensei Jill had me take both pieces to Sensei Dan in the office, and he patched them up with electrical tape. So I went back onto the floor to spar with the other end of my broken bo. SNAP! *crack* The other end broke in a similar manner. I patched that end up when I got home, but there was much sniffling by me over my poor broken bo before then. I bought it with my own money, too--money I could have used on comic books! And it barely lasted a month T-T... I had to retire Thunder-san from regular workouts, and only use it for spinny stuff.
So I was really very happy to get Nyoi-Bo-chan on Saturday ^___^. I think I will name it Hikari. Unfortunately, I had to leave it at the dojo, because there wasn't enough room in the car for it ^^;... Well, _you_ try and cart around a six foot pole without a truck or a minivan sometime! We've always had to lower the back seat and let Thunder-san hang half-in/half-out of the trunk. We couldn't do that this time because we needed all the seats we had. I miss you already, Hikari-san T-T!
...
Well. That was incoherant.
Finally finished cracking the hickory nuts today. There's about a pound's worth. Anyone know of any good recipies that use Hickory nuts?
Next non-fandom project planned is binding some books for Dad.
One more thing: Pixar does good work.
