soc_puppetNothing much going on right now. Shinkendo yesterday, Hannah's annual X-mas get-together today. Also today: big showdown at Nathan's LJ; involves a huge can o' worms that I don't want to get too close to. Commented anyway, because I'm like that -_-. Saw 'National Treasure' today; liked it okay, but liked 'The Librarian' better. (Yes, it's cheesy and made-for-TV, and yes, as Mom pointed out, it should probably be called 'The Archivist' instead of 'The Librarian', but it glorifies librarians. Librarians don't get too many movies. We have (and I say 'we', even though I am not a librarian myself, because not one but both of my parents are librarians) this, and maybe 'The Music Man' that have librarians as something other than old ladies with their hair up that shush people on automatic.) Was sad that the best friend did not get the girl. *sigh* One day, I will write a movie script that fixes this.
Have been working on Ysabet's art request. Having an issue. Goes something like this:
1st Thts: I hope it doesn't look too Christmas-y >_<.
2nd Thts: You do realize that Christmas is basically a pagan holiday with a Christian paint job.
1st Thts: Yes, which makes it _really_ _difficult_ to make something Solstice-y as opposed to Christmas-y, but I *think* I'm doing okay.
3rd Thts: While we're at it, let's make sure we're not encroaching on Saint Lucia (spelling?) Day.

1st Thts: ...I'll break out Google again...
Anyway, hope to get some more requests sometime soon, because this is actually pretty fun. That, and I don't always know when it's okay to go into gift-giving situations blind. (<---Not too good at guessing these things)
