The Search for Yuri

Several times in the past I've mentioned how hard it is to find good Yuri. After posting the first version of Very Sweet the other day, I discovered I'm not the only one complaining ^_~ ...Okay, I already knew that, but I didn't know anyone reading this was particularly looking for some. So I'm prepared to share my sources!

Okazu and World Shaking: A blog and a website hosted by the amazing Erica Friedman. The former reviews anime and manga--and sometimes live action--with possible or actual Yuri content, and was where I first learned about Marimite and Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (the live action series, which is supposedly overrun with Yuri subtext +_+ *wants to watch*). She updates Okazu frequently with Yuri-related news. The latter is where she hosts her fanfic. Erica Friedman is a teriffic author and has gobs and gobs of good Yuri fic to read. She also has some very good original fic ^_~. If you're in the mood for Yuri, I suggest you give some of her stuff a try. (She has also written one of the most convincing arguments I've found for minors _not_ to read lemons, and to click the ads that pop up on Okazu (every time you click, you're supporting Yuri ^^v and you only have to stay a few seconds for the visit to register; what more could you ask for?))

Shoujo-Ai Archive:
The title is more or less self-explanatory ^^; As with many large archives, the content comes in a wide range of quality--from the good to the mediocre, the brain bleaching to the fantastic. Some of what I like: Michael Treiber's fics (Sailor Moon), "A Meeting of Minds" (Sailor Moon, unfinished), Dreiser's fics (Sailor Moon), Shanejayell's fics (various), Dreiser's fics (various), Racewing's fics (various).

Lililicious:
High quality scanlations and, yes, fansubs of popular Yuri series that haven't been liscenced in the US. I like Marimite and Strawberry Shake from Yuri Shimai ^^v Good stuff, good stuff.

A site with lots of scanlations to download, not all of them unliscenced ^^; The manga 'Hen' is now available to download; despite the title, it isn't actually hentai, only somewhat perverse. I read text translations of the first few chapters, and I'm fairly certain this is the one I'm thinking of (there are two versions, the other of which is Yaoi). If it's not the one I'm thinking of, please forgive me for misleading you ^^;, but I'm pretty sure it is. Also featuring Yuri (that I'm aware of): Bleach, though if you download this, you damn well better be planning on buying the graphic novels, too. Or at least checking them out from a library or borrowing them from a friend or something. Very Yuri-friendly series ^__^. Well, okay, Chizuru can be a bit of a negative stereotype, but I'm rather fond of Chizuru/Tatsuki ^^v, and around the chapters in the late 140's, Yuri subtext for two other characters kinda hits you upside the head with a sledgehammer ^_______^ I mean, wow, is that ever Yuri-subtexty <3

That's about all I've got. I've got a few more things, but most of 'em you can find from what you've got up there.
I'm still on the lookout for good Yuri, so if anyone out there has a good suggestion that I haven't mentioned, it means I might not know about it and would like to know; and even if I know about it, there are other people out there who probably don't. Anyway, feel free to bring it up.
