soc_puppetFinished Harry Potter six, but that's not what I'm going to talk about right now. What I'm going to talk about right now is New York.
See, a while ago, our family was invited to Jamaica for my cousin's wedding ^__^ See, the bride's family was all from (and in) Jamaica, so they were going to hold the wedding there. Sadly, we decided some time in advance that we couldn't go ;_; I thought of it from time to time with a little sadness, but not too often.
Then, disaster struck. You remember that hurricaine a while ago? Yeah. Prevented a lot of my cousin's side of the family from making it to Jamaica. His mother managed to get there by way of being stubborn, and one of my other aunts (and possibly her family, though I'm hazy on the details) was there a week in advance, but everyone else was stuck in Florida.
To make up for it, our side of the family has planned a meeting in New York this September.
I'm really looking forward to it ^__^ I haven't been to New York in years! And I'll probably get to see my Aunt Sherri there, too (Mom's side of the family, works in the movie business). This time around, I vow to appreciate a lot more landmarks and touristy stuff. *is determined*
Cosplay group, never fear, it's currently planned for the weekend after Anime Iowa.
I hope I can find a Ramen joint in NYC...
