Okay, Icka, you win. It goes up now.
Fandom: Detective Conan/Magic Kaito
Summary: ...Or, two detectives locked in a closet. (Kinda choppy, rough)
For: Icka. A really late Happy Birthday.
Fic:
Distraction
It was well noted that Kid the Phantom Thief liked to stay at least two steps ahead of his would-be captors. Nakamori Ginzo knew this. It was in hopes of outwitting the thief that he invited Kudo Shin'ichi to chase the kaitou once again. With luck, he reasoned, the combined intelects of Shin'ichi and one Hakuba Saguru would be enough for him to finally get the Kid behind bars.
Unfortunately for all three of them, Kid lived up to his reputation once again.
---
"I can't believe he locked us in a closet," Saguru ranted. "A Goddamn closet!"
"Hakuba-kun, would you quiet down a bit?" Shin'ichi asked, looking pointedly over his shoulder at the other boy. "I'm trying to concentrate." Shin'ichi went back to fiddling with the lock.
Saguru ignored him. "I mean, a closet? What exactly is he trying to say here, huh?"
"Hakuba-kun..." Shin'ich said again, warningly.
"And talk about lack of originality. He must be running out of ideas, because a closet is the most cliche-ridden--"
"Hakuba-kun," Shin'ichi cut him off sharply. "Shut. Up."
Saguru opened his mouth to continue his rant when Shin'ichi rose, turned toward him, and, securing Saguru's head with his free hand, plastered their lips together.
Saguru froze in shock. His brain not responding to any of the messages it was sending, Saguru's body gave up and went on automatic, melting into the kiss. Distantly, Saguru noticed as a tongue slipped into his mouth, as his hands roamed over the other detective's body; he wondered why he could only feel one of Shin'ichi's hands, the one that was tangled in his hair to keep him from going anywhere (not that he wanted to at the moment).
There was a faint clicking noise, and Shin'ichi pulled away. "Thank you," he said pointedly as he straightened his clothes. Finished, Shin'ichi turned and opened the formerly locked door, then ran out into the hallway yelling, "Stop the Kid! He's headed for the roof!"
Somewhat dazed, Saguru stumbled out of the closet after him. Then his brain kicked into gear, and he ran to catch up with Shin'ichi and the Kid, beet red and still disheveled.

Kuroba Kaito was grinning like a maniac when Saguru walked into class the following day. Saguru knew better than to take issue with his smug look, so he made his way to his seat in sullen silence, pointedly ignoring Kaito.
Kaito, however, didn't seem to like being ignored. He strolled after Saguru lazily and straddled the chair in front of him.
Saguru shifted nervously. He risked a glance up, but quickly switched back to staring at his desk when he didn't particularly like the image he was presented with.
Unfortunately, Saguru's patience wore out before Kaito's did, and he glared up at the other boy. "What do you want, Kuroba?" he asked, wishing very dearly that the boy would leave.
Saguru blinked. Was Kaito...? He wasn't leering, was he?
Kaito's grin widened, and Saguru groaned internally. He was leering, the bastard. "So it's true," Kaito leered, "Blondes really do have more fun."
The chase that followed went down in the history of Ekoda High School as the time when Kuroba Kaito (almost) got what was coming to him.

Me: No, Brain, I don't care what you say, we are _not_ making Shin'ichi and Hakuba our crack OTP.
Brain: *whining* But they're so cute together!
Me: -_-;;
Aaaaaaall your fault, Icka. Aaaaall your fault. And I don't care if it still counts as 'while Hakuba's not chasing Kaito', it's written and it's not going to be un-written. I'll defy convention next time if I have to.
Me: I did it for the punchline! *strikes patriotic pose* The punchline!
Brain: *follows suit* Yes, the punchline!
