soc_puppet: Dreamsheep as Lumpy Space Princess from Adventure Time (Chaos Theory)

First, happy birthday to my mom ^_^ She is amazingly cool, and currently addicted to Katamari Damacy.

Registered for classes yesterday. Signed up for:
Biology for Non-Majors. It is my hope that I will pass this with a fairly good grade, so I can go into Human Anantomy sometime soon.
Elementary Spanish I. Okay, a few things about this. I never got around to taking a language in High School, because I was waiting for Japanese to show up. Every time they offered it, though, they snatched it right out from under my nose -_- It was annoying. Have to take a language now, whether I like it or not. Have to pay for it, too. Went with Spanish because it was the only one for which beginner classes were offered. Would've liked to try for French otherwise. Still, there are two upsides to this, one of which is that my mom will be able to help me with it to a certain extent, as she grew up in Texas and took it kindergarten through college. The other I'll get to in a bit.
Composition II. The follow-up to Composition I, and a required class.
Forms of Literature: Fiction. I don't really know much about this class. I think we're studying stories and novels, though. Sadly, after reading the description, I believe that there will probably be no writing of fiction. Still, it's good to learn things.
---And, that's it. They're all at the in-town campus, too, so I don't have to drive way too far out of my way to go to class. Only thirteen hours this semester. I skipped out on a fifth class because Spanish is worth four hours. I'll probably end up taking classes this summer because of it. Not that I mind. I'm not too fond of being idle in the summer.

Went out to Hamburg Inn after church today to celebrate Mom's birthday. Ate much good food. It was yummy. Stopped by Roominations afterwards to look at stuff; Beth wished Mom a happy birthday and gave her a gift certificate for $25. Stopped by Northside Book Market afterwards. (Second-hand bookstore where Dad has lots of credit.)

This is where I get to the second upside to taking Spanish. Since I signed up for it, Dad suggested I look in the foreign language books for things I might want. I glanced around, and lo and behold, there were two books by Paulo Coelho in Spanish! (Which I think is the original language, but I could be wrong. Tell me, is Rio de Janeiro largely a Spanish speaking city, or a Portuguese speaking city?) I'm not sure if one of the two has actually been published in English (Brida), and the other (El Alquimista ^_~) I have a translated copy of, and was in fact the first book I read of his. (Following my introduction to his work, I tackled every book of his I could find at the public library. I think it's all of them that have been translated into English, though again I could be wrong, depending on Brida.)

Let's see, other stuff. Oh, I've been hit by four plunnies in quick succession for [livejournal.com profile] ickaimp's Vampyre universe, two of which are absolute crack and two of which are... less crack. They're all sex related, because I obviously have a one-track mind and my period just started, so STFU. There's two involving Werewolf!Heiji/Kazuha (one of each), and two involving Vampire!Kaito/Zombie!Hakuba/Aoko (again, one of each). I'm actually really looking forward to the more serious Black/White/Blue one; it's giving me a feeling similar to Echoes from HoS. I really liked that fic, too, so I'm glad to be writing another with the same 'feeling'. It does want explicit sex as a part of the plot, though. Well, mostly, at any rate.

I think that's about everything for now. Now I'd better run off and finish writing that paper ^^;
