The Indigo Blues
Dec. 3rd, 2005 10:49 pmLooking back, it was a good thing, and I'm glad I did it; I can laugh and think of the good times and think of ways to do things better next time. I have no regrets, and I know I did a good thing as a friend and a person. The sadness is beginning to catch up to me now, though. It's healthy, I know; I can laugh about it, and I know that's healthy, too. I'm still a little blue, though. Talked to Mom about it to see if she had any reccomended pick-me-ups. We decided to do the whole "Rent a chick flick, kick the guys out and eat ice cream out of the carton" thing tomorrow. Pat, you're invited if you're free and you'd like to start the healing process with me ;P We can get a few of the awkward moments out of the way, at least, and take a few steps towards getting the ol' friendship back to... I hesitate to say 'normal', really, but I can't think of anything much better to put there. It's not going to be the same, I know, but we can at least know that we'll be comfortable around each other again.
Anyway, Mom also reccomended that I write down ten things that made me happy, and since Pat tagged me for that meme a while ago anyway, I figured I could kill two birds with one stone, more or less.
Ten things that make me happy (in no particular order):
10) Getting positive feedback on a fic--especially from my beta reader, since I really, really respect her opinion.
9) Things I write/draw for people being well recieved, especially if it's not just by the person I do it for.
8) Good food. Especially warm or cold food. Food at room temperature? Not so much. Except sandwiches, and even then it gets old sometimes. Hot or cold is the way to go.
7) Getting a math problem right, or learning something new in Astronomy--or anything science-related, really.
6) Writing a fic that I think is good. That's really important to me.
5) Reading a good book.
4) Good characterization in fics.
3) People giving things to me, whether or not I ask. It means you know I'm here, that you care about me.
2) Compliments in Shinkendo or Bojutsu--especially from one of the senseis. I just blush like no tomorrow.
1) Getting the right amount of sleep. This can make my life so much better, you wouldn't believe it.
As for tagging people, I think it's supposed to be four or five? Hmm. I feel a little like I'd be imposing on people, actually, especially since I don't know all of you that well. Actually, wait; this is the perfect excuse for that. So this means I'm going to be imposing on you (if some of you are actually reading this).
aramina, this means you. You showed up as having friended me one day, and I've had exactly zero real contact with you, aside from reading your journal entries when they come up. I have no idea who you are, really, or even if you're paying any attention. Help me out here?
kurobahikaru, I'm tagging you, too. We have talked a couple of times, but I still don't know you that well. I think I would like to, though.
youji_yola because I can (and you still haven't requested anything from me yet, wry D: ).
yutaya and
wren_chan because I just met the two of you recently, and I want to know more about you ;) And stuff.
Anyway, that's five. And if you don't feel like doing it, that's fine, you don't have to.
...Except drat, now I can't tag
summercloud D: So, um, unofficial sixth I guess? If you want.
With that done, I'd still like some advice from those of you wiser in the ways of love and relationships than I: what do you to do feel better after a break-up, especially when just calling the other person a jerk and moving on isn't exactly an option? (Not that I want to anyway...) Or if that fails, you can always try to distract me. Whatever works. So if you would be so kind?

Date: 2005-12-05 05:17 pm (UTC)Don't worry about it ^_^ I'm feeling better now anyway, and I think things'll be fine for me at least the next time we see each other. Truthfully, I'm just glad you're not avoiding me.
