Art help plz

Okay. All you artists out there? (All two of you?) How do you stop a pencil drawing from looking like absolute crap once you've scanned it? Because I have no idea and CFUD calendar art is due in two days, aahh! DDD:

Edit: And once again, CFUD is both my savior and my damnation.

Um... since most of my TGZ art is all pencil, what I recommend is scan it in GRAYSCALE.
Pencil is not black-and-white like ink on paper is, ya gotta allow for some variation of grays in there.
If you've got photoshop, play with the brightness/contrast a little bit to clean it up, get rid of some of the smaller fainter lines.

Tempting, but I don't have MSN, so I'll just have to be content with screaming at my little brother or the mirror ^^;
