Productivity
Aug. 29th, 2005 08:24 pmHad a fairly productive day today. Went out and finally got my books. After that, stopped by Radioshack and picked up a USB cable for me so I can hook up the second scanner/printer/copier to the computer downstairs. Went to the bank and deposited a check. Last but not least, stopped by the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center and had my vein tapped ^^v Was only planning to make an appointment, but they had room for a walk-in, so I went ahead ^_^ I must say it was my best blood donation so far. Didn't even get dizzy, and no over-heating! I got to drink raspberry iced tea while being drained ♥ Went really fast, too; filled up my bag in maybe twenty minutes. Stuck around a little longer to munch on cookies and have more tea. Downed two cans while I was there. Grandma said she was really proud of me ^_^ (She's a retired nurse. She's doing a good job of making sure I drink a lot of fluids.)
Set up an appointment for October 24. Since I set it up, I got to have my name put in a drawing for a free pie at Village Inn ^_^ I doubt I'll actually get it, but it's nice incentive. Those of you reading this who are eligable to donate, I think I remember our priest saying yesterday that the states are low on blood right now. That's bad enough, but with the hurricane going on things could get really bad, really fast. Go out and give blood! It's good for you! Well, sorta. Mentally at least. You'll help save lives! [/soapbox]
Anyway, productivity. Wrote a couple more paragraphs of East Wind. With any luck I'll be able to finish the scene soon. Also finally finished one of my two remaining Anniversary Challenge fics ^^; 'Twas the longer of the two, I anticipate. I'll see what I can do about getting the other one finished and both of 'em typed and posted by the end of the month. After that I'll probably try and catch up on the
manycases1truth weekly challenges. *wince* I'm gonna be late for Hakuba's birthday, too, it looks like. Ah, well. C'est la vie.
That's about it for now. Might have something more interesting tomorrow, we'll see.
