The joys of not actually packing for vacation

Ah, vacation-with-family time! Such a wonderful time of year! ...If things were going better.

Decided after some deliberation that I would much rather actually go on vacation with my family than remain at home all by my lonesome (unless you count Hamilton) and began sorting through things today.

Sadly, my family was much quicker on the draw, leaving me with precious little to choose from suitcase-wise =_= I ended up digging through the back of my closet (where some had been stored previously) looking for something I would be willing to use. Most of the bags were, in fact, stuck in a medium blue suitcase with one latch locked down. This made getting them out quite a problem, but I managed to wrestle a good deal of the bags free. ...I still may have to use the bag I dragged around on my Europe trip. It's nice and roomy, but rather hard to deal with. *sigh* I need to find a better way of doing this. One that doesn't involve me actually giving up procrastination.

Leaving at some time tomorrow, I believe. Probably early. Should probably sort out my CD collection before then. Need to make a trip to the library, too.

...I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to enjoy family vacations.

On a lighter note, I recently changed my desktop background to this, the color spread from Bleach chapter 232 ♥ There are just so many bad library jokes I want to make about it. Well, okay, maybe only two, but they're pretty bad.

Here's hoping I'll get one last look at the computer before I leave tomorrow.

[Edit:] Skladfjlds. I totally was only slightly feeling the love for sea-salt ice cream until I let my brother try it and he said, "It tastes like the sea." Asdkfjsdlkj ♥ And it does, too. Well, if the sea were an ice cream flavor. Which I guess it sorta is?

That boy so has to stretch his writing wings sometime. I command it.

Oh, f**k.

I just remembered; the part of the family that we're going to see? The father of the bride, at the very least, is homophobic, and I know he passed it down to his son. I mean, he has reasons, more or less, but they're still kinda sucky in the long run, and it's not going to be comfortable for me to be there. Even if I'm still more or less closeted to the non-nuclear family and such.

I'll be taking Bi Any Other Name with me for courage and self-esteem and whatnot, and have half a mind to buy as much of FAKE as I possibly can at the first bookstore I see. (Admittedly, part of this is because it's an awesome manga and we just got a Dee at CFUD and now I want Bikky and Carol like burning, but part of it is also in 'silent' protest.) I'm already taking more than a dozen books with me to keep me occupied; this may be bordering on 'overkill'.

On that note, I actaully managed to find a suitcase I liked (it was hiding on a shelf in the laundary room, the sneaky little bugger) and my packing is now about half finished. I hope to be done by eleven, at which point I will sneak my suitcase into the van without anyone the wiser ¦3 (I lie. My parents and brother already know I'm not done packing. But they'll be pleased.)

...Also, I need an icon for these sorts of situations. Possibly even of Renji's hat from the spread in the previous post, which I am already tempted to 'shop a little 'me' onto the bill of. Izumi will probably do in the mean time.
