Crap crap crap crap D:
I have until May 29th to write an Artist's Statement for Mary-Sue, so she can go up for auction. And it has to be less than or equal to 200 words.
Okay. Okay, I can do this. I can explain, justify, and contextualize her. In under two hundred words. With limited references to the internet, fandom, and what exactly a "Mary-Sue" is.
Craaaaaaap DD:
(I also want to keep adding more to her. I mean, I'm pretty sure she'd look better if her "platform" were circular-ish instead of rectangular-ish. Or at least elliptical. Plus, it might be more difficult to see the box underneath; it's somewhat horribly tacky if it stays the way it is. And I was just thinking how it would be kinda nice for her skin to blend in with the pages she's "growing" out of :X Maybe I should see if I can borrow her for a few more days, put in some finishing touches. I mean, I do have until almost the end of the month...)
Note to self: turning in art projects ten months before they're due only leads to tears.
Edit: GUYS. GUYS, HELP. H-how should I approach the source material? Should I be blatant about it ("For an escapist book that glorifies stalking and abusive relationships, I felt a paper woman was only appropriate") and risk alienating potential buyers*, or tongue-in-cheek and hope the intended audience actually Gets It?
* Mind, some potential buyers will already be turned off by my blatant use and abuse of the Precious Source Material, but I was already writing them off. I'm thinking of the ones who are slightly more rational.
