A couple things
May. 20th, 2009 01:06 pmFirst, I don't know how many of you remember me talking about RaceFail '09 a month or two ago. Well, one of the organizations that it gave birth to,
verb_noire, is hoping to launch its home site and make its first novel available this weekend. They seem to still have a little ways to go with their fund raising, but considering they were originally hoping to start out on not even a quarter of their current goal, I think they'll probably be okay. Not that this is any reason not to donate, of course! I myself plan to finally get off my ass and write up a nice check to send off to them this afternoon :)
Second, stuff is going down in California, with surprisingly significant timing. I may have to actually look up the local event location on Facebook (or similar), since the Day of Decision site doesn't actually keep it updated, or have it at all. Even if I don't go, it would still be nice to know where it is, so I have the option of going if I decide I want to.
The Dallas Principles has also just been launched, and it looks quite promising. Though it is a bit disheartening to know how long it's been since the current administration came into power, and how little has been done on a federal level since then. (Plz to be writing and signing an Executive Order at some point in the very near future, Mr. President. While my hope-level is still relatively high, especially compared to the previous administration, it's beginning to slip down a bit :/)
