Lurker Day! It's on Tuesday. It'll be my second Lurker Day with a DW account. It'll also be a day off from work for me, so hopefully I'll do better recording links of other Lurker Day posts this time ^^a ...Maybe I should free myself from official obligation (not that I have any), just so I'm more likely to do it. Hmm. Something to contemplate.
For Lurker Day this spring, I'm hoping to have some fic to post, and I'll definitely do a meme or two. Not sure about banners yet. There's plenty to choose from, if I don't make any new ones this time around, of course. I'm also considering writing an essay about my reasons for Lurker Day, but my original post probably has that covered pretty well :P Maybe it'll just focus on why I include a "You don't have to delurk!" element of Lurker Day. Something to think about.
In other news, Representative Anthony Weiner (D-NY) was pretty damn awesome recently - as was Representative Peter DeFazio (D-OR), who donated some speaking time to him. For those of you who don't feel like watching the video or reading the transcript, I've commemorated the event in a bit of verse:
Anthony Weiner, Representative:
When he spoke, he was not tentative
In his defense of the Public Option,
Staunch opposition to Republican toxin
And their pandering to Big Insurance;
May his words have long endurance.
(I've found I actually remember it pretty well, too! I just need a title - the date and time, perhaps? - and maybe a line or two about Rep. DeFazio (since no one remembers William Dawes with him not being in the poem), and I'll consider it done :])
