Dad Update

Dad is out of the hospital and doing well! Surgery went quite well, and he's got pretty low pain as long as he's not actively using the ankle in question. I expect that Mom and I will be doing our best to minimize said use for at least the next week or so, probably longer.

No other notes for now, too tired.

I just came here to see if we would make good friends. Sound like we might. I live with my elderly mother, who just got a pacemaker and Watchman procedure last year because of dangerous bouts of atrial fibrillation in her otherwise asymptomatic diabetic body--except for the cognition issues she was having before they found the afib. It's been scary and stressful--especially when she refuses to do things to take proper care of herself at the same time saying she isn't ready to leave this existence. *face:palm* I hope your situation continues steadily to improve with your dad, and that your mom remains healthy as she sounds!

Welcome aboard! Mind if I ask how you got here?

Things are going well with Dad so far! He's finding he doesn't need quite as much pain medication as he's been prescribed as yet, but he's also keen to get off of it. Alas, Mom is not quite as healthy as she sounds here; she had cancer twenty-five years ago, and her energy levels are probably only at around 80% of what they once were, even with age taken into account. Other than that, though, she's doing pretty well! So we're still kicking 👍

Same! I just wish he'd stop falling 😅 Two bad falls in three years isn't terrible, especially with no prior record, but it's not great, either...
