Enough of that! Time for a fun story from work today :)
So, this guy came in with his kids and a vase. Filling customer's vases is a thing we do routinely, and he'd already spoken to someone on the phone about what he wanted, so that wasn't terribly remarkable. When my co-worker (who actually put the arrangement together) asked if he would just like to wait a few minutes and take it with him, he declined, saying instead that he'd take his kids to Dairy Queen for a treat and pick it up after. Figuring that he was pretty good-natured, I called out as the three of them were leaving: "Bring me back a dilly bar!"
I in no way was serious about this, and was mostly hoping to get a chuckle or something, so imagine my surprise when he came back with not one, but three dilly bars - one for each of the employees he'd heard. Way cool customer or what? :) Co-worker gave his kids an extra flower each as a thank-you, but I was kinda stuck with words :P Still a totally cool thing, though.
FYI,
help_japan's auctions are closing in about four-and-a-half hours if I'm reading the times right, so if you want something, I encourage you to go bid! As a reminder, AnimeIowa has two Sponsorship tickets up, my mom has three postcard offers up, and I've got a request for an Esperanto learning buddy or tutor up. (With regards to my request, I am seriously willing to accept even someone to just nag me on a schedule to do my lessons, though someone to practice with/check my work against is still ideal. So if you have the patience/energy to nag me, this is totally your chance to make me donate more money than I would otherwise have to support Japan! Don't make me break out the puppy eyes. *wibble*)
Follow-up interview tomorrow, with an appointment to (hopefully) donate blood shortly after. Anyone know off-hand if Lorazepam is a turn-away drug? I mean, I'm pretty sure it's not, but if I don't know I'll probably have to err on the side of caution and not take it 6_6a Not that my iron count will necessarily be high enough anyway (thanks ever so, that-time-of-the-month), but I live in hope.
