Some things
Apr. 18th, 2011 12:18 am* Yesterday, I got to play with a lionhead rabbit and baby turkeys, ducks, and chickens, and lotsa kids and some older folks, for a good three hours. And I got free food. And work paid me to do it. If only every work day were like that. *emo tear*
* Had the Dan Savage Make It Better thing today! It was. Perhaps better than I was expecting, I guess? I didn't stay for the whole thing, though.
* I've looked up a single set of carpal tunnel syndrome prevention exercises, which I have resolved to put into practice post-haste. I also need to get some wrist braces that were made with therapy in mind, rather than the pair I have that was made with keeping one's wrists from breaking when you fall while skating/biking/whatever. Less than two weeks until my self-imposed no-crochet-time is up! Need to get ready.
* Finally got around to watching the DVD copy of Beauty and the Beast that Dad got me for Xmas (ahaha ^^a). I rather liked the extended edition of the film, because the added song/scene(s) helped boost character development on the parts of all magically affected beings. By contrast, the WIP version didn't do much for me, though some of the pictures included were nice.
As I watched, I also ended up putting rather a lot more thought than I expected into my own potential adaptation of the tale. I mean, it won't be until after I've at least finished the novel I tried to start for NaNo a year and a half ago, especially since I plan to set them roughly in the same universe, but it's still fun to think about :) Thieves and puzzle games and magic spells that are more like locks with more tumblers than you can shake a pick at...
* Apropos of nothing, would anyone be interested in helping me put together a Project Runway ForAssholes The Uninitiated guide? ...No? Ah, well; it was worth a shot.
