soc_puppet: Drawing of a smiling fish skeleton (Something fishy here)
Okay. I am officially lowering my rate of posting. I held up a self-imposed "every three days-ish" update schedule for a good number of years, and now I'm not doing so well with that. So my new goal is going to be "aim for once a week-ish". Right. New goal. Can do.

I've got a few crochet commissions lined up :3b Mostly made in person so far (thank you, fellow convention staffers!), but I remain open to online commissions. *stares hopefully at internet* Currently on my plate for By The End Of July If I Can Help It are three mini brain slugs (one dead, all currently mostly done), one ~5" Kaien Cross (note to self: look up images already), one ~2" Xellos (this is technically due at the Postmortem Meeting, but sooner is still better), and one pony plush in the style of Vincent from FFVII (with the potential future commissions of the rest of the entire fucking cast as ponies; geekery plus potential steady work = FUCK YEAH). I'll probably see if I can't fit in a few Buu-chans by the time the convention rolls around as well, since I have permission to sell those through the fanmarket table, but mini-squiddles might take priority. And then there's one for Actually August, but that can wait until it's actually August.

ANYWAY. What I was leading up to is: I'd like recs for free podcasts and books on tape! While I am capable of "watching" television while crocheting (and have even managed to watch a subtitled episode of anime while doing so), I really miss a lot of what's going on. Listening to a story would help keep my mind occupied while my hands are at work, and I would be much less likely to miss anything visual.

About my tastes: I like writing styles that are more accessible to young adults and children, and adventure stories with fantasy and sci-fi elements. Comedy is awesome. Honestly, though, feel free to throw titles and/or authors at me and see if anything sticks. While I can start with some classic titles I've been meaning to get around to at LibriVox and work my way through, I would actually like a few more modern things to balance my literary diet out a bit.

Suggestions plz? Anyone? ♥?
