I'm back from the con! Full report to come later.
I am happy to report that Mom is feeling much better than when I left, to the point where she's switched off the super-duper heavy duty pain meds to extra-extra-strength ibuprofen and is walking Chester again.
And now, one of my favorite memories from last year, since I never got around to sharing it before:
AnimeIowa has a pig mascot named Buu-chan. A few years ago, we introduced a nemesis for Buu-chan: A barbecuing fiend, the Pit Master.
Last year, as part of the Environmental Enhancement Team, I helped host a paper airplane contest. The Pit Master and Buu-chan showed up to duel with competing airplanes.
When the Pit Master showed up, a girl of about eight or so who was cosplaying as Ladybug cornered him, entirely prepared to throw down and save Buu-chan from this horrifying new supervillain.
