Art and other things

Managed to actually finish one of my New Year's requests o_O Well, okay, partially finish at least. (Trying to knock them off one by one, starting with the art; it's a little easier in most cases.)
ysabet, here we have CorpseBride!Akako. I'm still hoping to come up with both CorpseBride!Kaito and CorpseBride!Aoko, but it's a start.

Had half-baked notions of coloring her, but decided against it, as my coloring skills are teh suxx0rs. (FYI, if anyone out there would like to color it, or pretty much any of the rest of my lineart, feel free.) Officially, it is her Hallowe'en costume. She used some sort of magic (stuff?) to make her bones luminous rather than actually strip the flesh from them. Had no idea what the butterflies in the movie actually looked like, as it has been too long and I probably wasn't paying attention anyway. (Tried an image search for reference material earlier; the one picture I found of a butterfly was from the beginning anyway and taken down D: It might be different now, but I don't care to look.) Anyway, as I said, I'm also hoping to fit in pictures of Kaito and Aoko (as Victor and Victoria respectively (and I am now chasing off art plunnies of Kaito as one of the girls =_= DON'T HELP ME!)) as well sometime, but it may be a while. So! Here's this one for a start.
In other news, finally went out and got my books for this semester today. Also stopped by Waldenbooks, since the mall is right there anyway. They had a "Buy three, get the fourth free!" sale, which is unfair, I think. Thus I managed to knock off another four books on my manga card for their new system. Got Furuba 12, FMA 5, and Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2. Furuba came with a Tokyopop calendar, and if I do not get Sorcerers and Secretaries soon, I shall not be happy. Also, the next volume of Bizenghast would be nice, as well as the first volume of Van Von Hunter, thank-you-very-much. And half a dozen other things by American manga-ka. (What? I'm not trying to live my dream out vicariously through them! Whatever gave you that idea? (Srsly, tho, I am addicted to them. They are cute. They are American. Give them to me!))
Later: On FMA 5: Page 16, direct quote: "I can't get a good look. Just take off your pants, kid!" Really, the only real difference this has from the scanlations is the order of the sentences, but I think I liked those better.
Also, on page 18: Apparently, they make automail eyes. Hear that, Anime!Roy? You can get a replacement!
Later still: At the prompting of Icka, the art is now crossposted to
manycases1truth.
