Birthdays, prizes, and villains

Happy birthday to my brother today ^_^ He is now sixteen and working on getting his driver's liscence. While I got a sword for my sixteenth, Tomas's big present was his own iPod. In addition to that, I got him a couple of Pratchett books to help build up his collection (the first two in the Vimes continuity), and he got a couple of shirts from relatives in Pennsylvania. To celebrate, we went out to see The Producers with a group of Tomas's friends (Dad and I sat a few rows in front of them, so as not to cramp their style ;) Mom opted to stay home). Third time I've seen it. Need to re-watch the original, see how much was added. Also need to form my own opinions on it. Dad said he liked Gene Wilder better than Matthew Broderick (sp?) as Leo Bloom, but again, it's not something that I'd be able to form an opinion on at the moment. If you are planning to go any time soon, be sure to stay through the credits, if only for the Gutentag Hop Glop(?) Continues, because it is hilarious.

Speaking of Gene Wilder, my family has suggested the idea that everything he's in is being remade. Next thing you know it'll be Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein D: I hope he will not be forgotten.

In other news, the fandom I've referenced in this icon has finally been guessed by someone :O I will not be telling anyone by whom or where it was guessed as there is a prize offered to those who can do so--fic or art from the fandom in question. It's fairly obscure, so I feel pretty safe offering it to anyone who guesses (though keep in mind that if it happens in my journal it will be screened). The guesser has declined the prize in this case, which is allowed :) but it was good to see someone finally guess.

Also, ysabet, you should be warned that you have been volunteered to play the main villain for the Magical Girl Icka story. As such, the villainess's 'theme' has been changed to ferrets, though the vampire squid will still be used to collect energy in order to cause confusion. If you have any opinions on this--suggestions for evil plots, motivations for taking over the world that will help thinly vale your true selfish intent, telling us to keep you the heck out of whatever crazy backwater scheme we've come up with, etc--please feel free to share.

Oh yeah, and I'll eventually need reference pictures (art is acceptable) for any characters who are based on people IRL that I don't know/haven't personally seen/etc. (Wow, that's... everyone so far, I think.) So if I could have some assistance there, it would be appreciated. General descriptions would also work. Or if you prefer that your true image not be used, I can make something up--due to specifications even, if you'd like. Or something. I don't know.

And now the squirt wants to take over the computer to test out his new toy, so I think I'll let him. I'll be back on sooner or later.

Yeah, generic Evil Minion was my first thought, too, but again, I have a lot less control over this than I had expected ^^; Hapless Victim is something of a consolation prize if I can't fit you in as a Minion.

Bottom line is, I'll probably need to flesh this out a bit more before making any major cameo decisions.
