Summary: Riku wants to hold onto the things that are dear to him. OT3-ish, K.
Fic: Shift
He used to think that he wanted to escape to other worlds, to leave the every day monotony of the Destiny Islands. Later, when things had fallen apart, he thought he would have given anything to stay right where he was then and not have lost his friends. Only when he had finally begun to pick up the pieces again did he figure out what it was he really wanted.
He wanted new, he wanted different, he wanted uncertainty and awkward moments. He wanted to leave the safe havens of “She’s just a friend,” and “I don’t like him like that,” and open up his old world to new possibilities—to open doors he had been too scared to try before.
He told himself that when he found them again he would do things differently; he would pull them close and hold them tightly and never let go for anything.

I seem to have jump-started myself into a KH kick. Oops.
I'm not entirely satisfied with the title. I may change it later.
