Post of moths and random

Yanno, eventually I really wanna make a huge TMI post, just to get things off my chest. ...And also because the world seems to be conspiring against me. But mostly to crab about stuff.

I also need to finish writing that giant poll regarding CFUD con, as I now have the go-ahead and need to find stuff out. Mostly how many people are willing to commit right now, but also other stuff, like activities and so forth.

Except right now, all I wanna talk about is that moth I found in the back yard.

I'm pretty sure it's a hawk moth. If it's not, it's about the right size for one. And I'm not sure whether it's actually alive. If it is, it's probably on its last limbs ;_; I hope it had a long and fulfilling life, for a moth. I'm really not sure how long this species lives, though I know luna moths only live (as moths) for about five days. Which is a giant gypp, 'specially compared to monarch butterflies, which live long enough to migrate.

Found it on the pavement out back. Thought it was dead so I took it inside to save it from the ants ^^a They won't be thanking me for that. Ended up seeing its antenna move a bit, so now I'm less sure. Went and got a cherry for it, just in case; those things have a lot of juice, even if it does turn out to be too sour. Wanted to at least save the body, because it's really pretty and I hardly ever get to see things like this up close, alive or not. *sigh*

...I'm just a giant dork for nature, aren't I?

And now, the more random portion of this post:
• Anyone know any good recipes involving cherries? We've got enough here for at least two pies, and I wanna try some different stuff. Gonna need something (lots of somethings) for apples later, as well as peaches and pears. Gotta love our mini-orchard.
• Need Iruka fic recs plz. Not actually for me, but still need them. I can't give a lot, because I'm usually more interested in the kids :D;;; So, um. Suggestions?

Get a picture of the moth. I wanna see it. Um. Look up cherries jubilee. What type of Iruka fic recs? I've got a huge list on my computer. When I get home hopefully you'll be online so I can give them to you. *is still at school* Be careful not to touch the wings as it takes off the little scales that make the pattern.

Moth picture here. It's the best of what I took, and I set it free afterwards--hopefully less trauma? And I tend to avoid touching the wings as much as possible, since they need the scales to fly, too.

Hey, good idea. Been meaning to find out what that was since reading Dealing With Dragons too many times. Now I have the perfect opportunity.

...The distracting kind? The person who wants them has 'porn' down as the most distracting element, though it looks like she'll take anything with Iruka as one of the main characters. I'll try and be on tonight so I can collect the links from you.

Did you ever get an estimate of how many likely attendees would be needed to attract the attention of a theater owner for showing a particular movie? I was surprised the New Strand didn't show Brokeback Mountain and disappointed that they didn't show the remake of The Producers.
