Pulling an Executive Decision here, and making September 2nd the next Lurker Day. By extension, I'm also making Lurker Day biannual/semiannual/twice a year.

Since it's short notice, I probably won't be doing anything hugely spectacular for it, though I'll try for something. There will definitely be a banner this time, if nothing else. Join in the fun if you like, but you are by no means under pressure to participate, even if you did so in March. Likewise, if you missed the first Lurker Day, it is perfectly fine to participate in this one.

And I guess if anyone has any questions, just comment here and I'll do my best to help you out? Thoughts and opinions are good, too.

Edit: Okay, html-dumb question here. How do I post the html for a banner without it activating in the post? I keep seeing those boxes for colorbars and such, but I have no idea what they're called or how to use them. Is there an option available on LJ that I can use, or should I just go looking around the web for how to do this? Or should I just post the image for the banner and maybe the url for the original Lurker Day post at the bottom and let people link or not link as they like? Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] dagronrat!

If you make a banner, I'll definitely post it as well! ♥

I know I have a million lurkers. And they frighten me greatly.

Don't take this wrong... As an attempt at a constructive suggestion, you should know that "biannual" means every two years. "Semiannual" means twice yearly.

Woof. I think Latin has changed since I was a kid. I doubted you; sorry 'bout that. In my youth, the Latin "bi" meant "two", while the Latin "semi" meant "half". Thus, bicycle or bisexual had to do with two, while hemisphere, demitasse and semiannual had to do with half. Oh, well. I was going to say "live and learn" there, but instead, live and what you've learned will change.
