Computer issues

I have been sitting in front of this computer for the last five hours or so.

Normally, I would feel a lot better about it. At the moment, however, I'm just freaking out.

I would've left for home a good three hours ago were it not for the fact that the computer can't seem to find my zip disk. It barely acknowledges the existence of the zip disk. The problem is, I downloaded some stuff onto this computer before I realized that it doesn't acknowledge the zip disk. And it pretty much took those first two hours, too, which makes me reluctant to leave it here. Plus I haven't seen half of it yet. I'm using my mother's account and don't know her password, so I can't just stick it in her folder, switch computers, and pick it up there. If worse comes to worst, I may do this anyway.

Still, I am rather hoping that there's someone computer-savvy out there who can help me?

I'm sure this is way too late to help you with your problem that prompted this post, but if this happens again you could just take whatever you wanted to load onto your zip disk (didn't know anyone still used those, I thought everyone had migrated to USB thumb drives) and simply e-mail it to yourself. That way, at least you won't have to track down again the stuff you wanted to save.

Asdlkfjsd. That second thing is probably actually what it is. Have I mentioned yet that I am technologically impaired? Because I am. 'Specially with what things are actually called.
