Test, test!

...Oh-kay, beginning to understand all the fuss about/against the new update layout. Thank you once again,
the_lj_herald, for informing me of it swiftly and succinctly the moment I checked my friends page ♥ (Also, for anyone who wants to keep up with LJ news? I totally recommend it. They are very thorough.)
I've pretty much figured it out just by looking at it, though I guess I'm in the minority there, but I do have to agree with much of the clamor: this is more than a little jarring, especially with no forewarning and mandatory implementation. Big points off for that, LJ.
On the other hand, minor points added for fixing the spell checker so that it no longer hates contractions. Though those points are automatically (and ironically) lost again for the spellchecker not recognizing LJ (and its lowercase html-related cousin, lj) as legitimate psuedo-words. They also still haven't fixed that thing where they try and correct misspelled words twice. So if I'm writing a fic about Kaito and have to write his name a dozen times in it? You'd better believe I still see twelve "spelling error" messages in order of appearance.
...But none of that is the real reason I'm making this post. The real reason is to announce that I went shopping today, and now have two out of three family presents, and! CLOTH. Lovely, lovely cloth, with which to make character bags for Pat and MoF ♥♥♥ And possibly someone else, if I have extra. Hooray!
Edit: Double points off LJ for making me have to click something to edit the time, and for what appears to be an automatic setting of GMT.
