soc_puppet: Dreamsheep as Lumpy Space Princess from Adventure Time (Can't talk--reading)

I don't have much to say today, which, uh, isn't that much different from usual, I guess ^^a Have a job-interview-like-thing tomorrow after church-ish for the position at The Pit; my cousin's going to take me in and introduce me, which saves me a lot of trouble and stress, to tell the truth. Here's hoping it goes well, if for no other reason than the fact that I'll have money +_+

Got some lab work back from the doctor's a little while ago. I've been advised to hold off on donating blood for about a year to let my iron stores get back up. Sadness ;_; I wanted to earn that stuff soon. At least I'll have it laying around the house to remind me... I also wonder if I shouldn't check in at the blood center and let them know what's going on/not to worry about me/that I'll be back someday, really. I think I may do that.

Anyway, read through The Lighning Thief the other day. (Thanks for the rec, Lyzz! ♥) It was a pretty quick read, which made sense, considering the age level. The beginning was a little slow/expositiony, but it picked up after Percy was "claimed". ...I'm rather ashamed to admit that I was slightly mislead by the "A summer camp you can never leave" bit in the blurb (or wherever it was), but I managed to put that out of my mind fairly easily. It has a barrier, though! And people from all over! Who can god mode! And stuff! Managed to call just about all the Greek myth stuff between the time it was introduced and the time that it was explained. Had forgotten who Chiron was up until we found out what he was, I'm afraid ^^; But picked it up after that. ...Honestly thought that Charon was the giant-ass whirlpool that swallowed the tide, though, and not the boatman. (Also thought Athena had brown/black hair, but whatever.) Still, I'm proud that I managed to figure out the Lotus Eaters at all, considering there wasn't any exposition on it in the end.

Also, major points to the author for not actually making Hades a bad guy. A jerk, maybe, but evil? No. Kudos to you, man. You have my heart. And I will never forgive that teacher of mine for disagreeing with me when I said he wasn't bad, just bitter >: *manages to refrain from going on the Disney's Hercules speal*

Anyway, picked up The Sea of Monsters at the library yesterday and started reading it. Made my dreams rather weird, but other than that, no complaints so far. Had a faster beginning, too. Will probably finish it shortly.

And that's all I've got for today. More possibly tomorrow. May or may not include bemoaning about Communications, and how I suck for not actually working on it all that much yet. We'll see.

I haven't reached the gay gay lawyers part. Right now I'm still at the "EDGEWORTH IS AN ASSHOLE" part.

I'm hoping it's coming. :/ I'm worried that most of it might be in the second game or something. He's just now started to redeem himself, because I think he's stalling to buy me time in this case....
