Mmmm, updatey-ness

And of course the day I want to do a huge-ass update is the day I only have two hours in the lab. Being short on time, I don't know that I'll get around to saying all that I want to say, but I'm sure as heck gonna try!

First of all, I've pretty much finished the art I'll be sending for Singles Awareness Day. I only got two requests, so I'm probably going to skip/skimp on the other ones ^^a I'm currently still hoping to do something Tentacular-wise for ♥-Day, I'm just not neccessarily making a card. (Hopefully, I'll manage a comic, rough though it may end up being. Otherwise, I'll probably write something out, like I did for Hallowe'en. Still, comic is better as it'll express what I want better, so.) Not quite sure whether I'll be going through with the Cheap Candy Day card or not.

That is to say, a) Candy, Lyzz, since hardly anyone signed up, you two want scribbles on your cards? And if so, what? And b) no, it is not too late to sign up ♥ I'll be taking sign-uppers until about the eleventh, probably.


Next item! Am gonna be essentially signing over my soul to Anime Iowa shortly, probably, as they almost certainly still need help for registration. *wants that form up, darnit!* The appointment is for 2:00 on the seventeenth, though it was suggested that I show up about half an hour early. ...I'm probably going to die while doing that. Somehow. (Note to self: write will.)


Moving right along, I've resolved to set myself up a PayPal account sometime soon. This will be so I can start selling homemade CFUD t-shirts and, hopefully, eventually, character bags. I'll probably need to stockpile those a bit first, though. I'm also thinking a lot about possible comics I can draw, specially for the RSoM contest (though I still need to look up when the next one starts/ends). Currently designing characters for a rather gender-bendy one, and attempting to resist the urge to turn Yo! Kaitou! into a yuri-subtexty story from what I was planning to be a BL-subtexty story. Though it has more development now. Sorta. I mean, at least I have a better idea of what I want to do with it. Though I do wish I could squish more action in there >: I like drawin' that sorta stuff, and I don't give myself enough excuses. Maybe if I think about it some more...


And now, it's Kingdom Hearts Summary time ¦D I said I'd do this the other day, but hadn't gotten around to it until now. Let's hope I have enough time!

(PLZ NOTE, these are in no way intended to be serious. They're mostly for people to get the gist of a plotline. And also to introduce them to the jokes I can remember. But yes, not serious.)


Right, so, to recap: Roxas is this guy who just wants to go to the beach. Unfortunately, he gets robbed and this guy with red hair (calls himself Axel, "A-X-E-L, got it memorized?") keeps insisting they're boyfriends BFF and being all sad when Roxas doesn't remember him >: And also asking if people have things memorized. In the end, Roxas never goes to the beach, 'cuz summer vacation is over, boof.

We pick up with Sora, who is trapped in a giant plastic artichoke. He gets out somehow, only to find out he has somehow aged a year, le gasp! Or something. Also, Donald and Goofy are still there, King Mickey and Riku are still not there, and Kairi is still stuck on an island far away. ...Except Kairi sorta doesn't quite remember Sora's name. But that's not important right now! The important thing is, Sora is now a year later into his quest to re-unite his friends.

He jump-starts this quest by heading off to the house of Yen-Sid, a sorcerer the studied under when he was younger. You might remember him from Fantasia (the original, Sorcerer's Apprentice sequence). Yen-Sid alerts Sora & co to the existence of Nobodies, which are like Heartless in that they're named for what they are. Er. That is, if Heartless are hearts consumed by darkness, Nobodies are the bodies leftover after the hearts are gone. Most of them are either mildly specialized, like the Dancers or the Samurai, but some are just white husks with too many zippers, and a few (about fourteen) look like actual people. These are apparently the ones to fear, as they're smarter than the others, and also are without hearts and thus unable to feel anything. At all. So they are evil. And want hearts, 'cuz they don't got 'em. (Mmmm, the tasty taste of using Disney logic to fight Square baddies.)

With this in mind, Sora & co go off to look for the King and Riku and also to save the world again. They travel to many different worlds again, some of them more interesting than others, some of them better done than others, but we aren't naming names. (Though the PotC world so should've been a costume world.) Sora keeps running into people who say they've seen a snarky guy in a black coat who's been helping them out, but they never really see said snarky guy. Except a little from the back. And then they can never catch him. Unless he turns out to actually be a bad guy and not Riku.

In the midst of all this world traveling stuff, other fun things happen. Sora and co. stop in Hollow Bastion, the place that the previous big baddie took over, which has now been reconstructed to some degree. A lot of our Final Fantasy friends from Twilight Town in the previous game have taken to getting together and calling themselves the "Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee" (or something). And the gang runs into Cloud, who's looking for someone, and Tifa, who's looking for Cloud, and go visit the Tron world through the computer. And then Ansem, the big baddie from the previous game, is kinda retconned into being a good guy again. Except sorta not? The bad guy's real name was Xehonort. (Note the 'x'; this is important.) And also the fabulous trio from FFX-2 shows up as little fairies who steal things. And look for treasure.

Meanwhile, back on Destiny Island, Kairi decides she's tired of waiting, dammit, and she's gonna go look for Riku and that kid she doesn't remember all that well now, so there >: Only then Axel shows up with a bunch of zipper Nobodies and tries to kidnap her. She's kinda smarter than that and follows Pluto instead; good girl! She escapes to Twilight Town, where Roxas sort-of lived, and meets Roxas' sort-of friends. Only then it turns out that Axel followed her and is still trying to kidnap her! She does fight back, but alas, it is useless, and she is dragged through a portal of shadows 'n stuff.

Now, back at Hollow Bastion! The real name of which actually being Radiant Garden, which I hardly ever remember/use anyway, but is still helpful to know. There's this big battle with Heartless and Nobodies and stuff! And oh look! It's the King! And oh no! Goofy kinda got killed! Except not! And then all the FF characters get to have a good time fighting Heartless, and Cloud and Squall Leon get this snarky back-to-back sceene which made the fangirls go gaga and gave them some actual canon basis for the pairing. And then Sora has to fight literally a thousand Heartless at once. Or was it a hundred? Whatever. Anyway, after that's all done, we find who Cloud was looking for. Gasp! It was Sephy! And also, Axel shows up and drops bits of foreshadowing and spells names and asks if people have things memorized and stuff. And is generally Axel-ish.

And then some other stuff happens, most of which I don't remember, but it involves Kairi being badass again :3 And Naminé helping her escape from her holding cell thing. And then she runs into this guy in a black cloak who helps her!! And doesn't say stuff!!! And who seems kinda familiar!!!! Gasp!!!!11! ...Except then the hood kinda falls down and he looks like Xehonort. But we were soooo close!

And then some other stuff happens, and Sora finally finds a way into the big Nobody world. And the road is called The Place Between. And if you ever play the game, get your tissues ready, because Axel is there, and he soliloquizes (well, not really, since Sora can actually hear him) about how everything he did for the big bad organization of people who like to wear dark cloaks with too many zippers was all for Roxas >>: 'Cuz he always liked Roxas the best. And almost felt like he had a heart when Roxas was around. And hey, Sora kinda made him feel the same way! What a coincidence! Anyway, all that stuff is what he goes on about after he's done being all noble and heroic and shit, and basically wastes his body to destroy a whole bunch of white-zipper-Nobodies. And he also tells Sora to apologize to Kairi for him. And then he disappears. Probably while thinking of Roxas. This game isn't gay at all, really!

So, after getting his spirit back up (possibly, I don't remember,) Sora gets into the Nobody Homeworld. Called something like The City That Doesn't Exist or something. *is too lazy to look it up* And then he meets and fights Roxas - gasp! And wins - gasp!! And then Roxas says - "You make a good 'other'," and is kinda gone. Except not like Axel is gone but also sorta like that? Iunno. And then Sora makes his way through the castle, looking for Kairi and fighting lower-level Nobodies and stuff. And then he finds Kairi! Hooray! Hugs for Kairi! And - what's this? This guy she's with, who's wearing a dark cloak; he looks like Xehonort (big baddie of KH1) or Xehonort's heartless ('cuz his Nobody, Xemnas (don't ask) is the big baddie of this game). So Sora basically says, they don't always get along, but he helped Kairi, so it's okay! >: And Kairi's like, "You doof," and makes Sora hold his hand. And then Sora realizes! It's ... Riku! And Sora kinda cries, 'cuz he's happy they're back together, and also angry that Riku told him there was no Santa Claus, and Sora believed him, the big dope Riku kept running away and stuff >>: And Riku's all angsty and self-sacrificing and shit, 'cuz he looks like a bad guy and also 'cuz he feels bad about what he did before, not that Sora or Kairi care. Anyway, now he's stuck with 'em.

And then Sora gets to fight a lot of the "named" Nobodies, and Malefecent kinda interferes (she's more of a wildcard in this game), and Kairi gets to be even more badass, 'cuz now she gets to fight, too! ...With a really flowery-lookin' keyblade, but. Nonetheless. Faito!

And then some more weird stuff happens, and the Real Ansem appears and tries to suck all the hearts that Xemnas had been collecting out of the sky and put them back where they belong. Except he fails, BIG time. Also, Mickey is with him. And somehow Riku gets back his original (good?) looks and bad fashion, and everybody's happy, yay! And also, apparently Roxas is Sora's Nobody, and Naminé is Kairi's (long, complicated story, will tell another time). And they kinda merge. And they're all still happy, yay! ...Except Xemnas, who they now have to fight. And that takes a really long time. And then, when they think they've done it, it turns out they haven't! And then the Disney charas + Kairi escape and get home, and Sora and Riku stay to fight, which takes entirely too long.

And then they end up on this beach, where Riku is totally wiped out, and they don't think they can get home, and so Riku and Sora are all confess-y at each other about how they were always jealous of each other 'n stuff. And then they get one of Kairi's messages-inna-bottle, and a door opens to the islands, and they all go home and there's pretty graphics and stuff ♥ And also Mouse!hugs for Riku, and Dog-and-Duck!hugs for Sora. And brief flashes of Somebody/Nobody matches. And then the Disney charas go home again, and it's all good, and Sora and Riku are hangin' on the island... and then Kairi comes with a message from the King. And it ends. And yeah.

And that's all I can remember for right now! Wow, long. Also, I'm out of time, and I'm sure more than a little of that was out of order. Sorry! I can only reccomend the scripts at gamefaqs.com as a supplement. Or go looking for the cutscenes on YouTube. Or something.

Anyway, yeah. Someday, I will do a better summary. With illustrations, and music, and more snark even. But that will wait for later.

That art is so awesome. XD As for scribbles, I would love scribbles! :D You can draw whatever you like, as I have no idea what to request. YOU KNOW WHAT I LIKE. I think.

I will read and comment on your no doubt amazing KH summary in a bit, when my head stops hurting long enough to read that many words. ^^;
