soc_puppet....Yeeeaaah. Er. Kinda sorta forgot something in all my enthusiasm over GALA. Namely, that I have, in fact, made plans to hang out with Tristan.
Tristan is a bass in the Quire. He is also gay, the son of one of my Jr. High teachers (who is awesome and wonderful and a hero to many, and is probably fondly remembered by many as the one reason they got through those two years of hell as sane as they did; also, terrified of spiders), a gamer, and far too attractive for the good of my hormones. If you were not already aware, I am teh fale at most social interaction type things. While I'm fairly comfortable around Tristan during rehersals and so forth, stir in the fact that Istill, goddammit! seem to have something of a crush on him and know he's damn well not available, especially to girl-types, and then that we're probably going to be doing minor gaming together and I have no idea if anyone else will be there or not, and I'll just be happy if I get through Thursday night without blushing too much. *hangs a nice, large banner in the back of her mind, reading: DO NOT FALL IN LOVE WITH THE GAY BOYS, SOCCHAN; subheading reads: STRAIGHT CHICKS ALSO NOT A GOOD IDEA.* *glares at it sourly for a minute, then goes back to typing with a sigh*
To look on the bright side of ...anything, really, because I can only freak out about something for so long before it seems a little much even to me, the manga I mentioned here (and, briefly, here) - the one with Claire? - is going fairly well. I've finished seven pages of the really rough first draft (the draft that's almost all in chibi sketches, so I can get a feel for the layout and set the story down and stuff), so that means I only have eight to thirteen left to do to make the TokyoPop RSoM length guidelines. After that will come the second draft, where I'll clean up the linework and hopefully set out some more final lines, and then, with any luck, work on cleaning it up on the computer. At that point, I'll probably really just start to count it as all the same draft, unless I decide to do all the shading by hand or something. I'll probably be sharing scans of at least the first two versions with my f'list, see if I can get some concrit out of people. I'll probably make it public and/or share the final draftwhen IF, IF, I WROTE IF, I DID! Ahem, if I don't win the contest in some way. (Which reminds me, they started breaking it down into geanres, which, on the one hand, means better money if I do win, but on the other hand, means I'll actually have to pick a geanre. Something else I'll need to ask opinions on... Hmmm...) And now, to review said RSoM guidelines ¦Db Socchan, away! *takes off*
Edit: First comment that the awkward issue mentioned in the second paragraph is also Another Sign That Spring Is Here? Gets a new loose tooth.
...Also, I really feel that we could use some different/new moods to choose from. *still doesn't quite get the Why of 'repose'*
