So. It's officially been one Catholic year since my town and my church were hit by a tornado, and since half of the latter was swallowed up by said storm and we'd all been shoved into the Parish Hall for masses (except on the big days, when we go to the gym of our local Catholic school). It's not yet been an annual year, but we were hit on Holy Thursday last year, and it's Holy Thursday now, so I'm counting it as a church year or something.
That also puts me at about ten months since I broke my tailbone, and still a few aches and pains occasionally, but that's nothing new.
Weather's not the best right now, hovering in the mid-thirties, which... is not actually that normal for Iowa this time of year, but I'll live. I just hope the peach tree will make it through okay; I didn't get more than two peaches last year, and those were still not quite as ripe as I like; most of the rest were hit by a disease and shriveled up and turned brown before they had a chance to drop from the tree. (Socchan liek fruits >: )
In completely different news, managed to scan both the Fire and Air books this afternoon when I had a little bit of free time; this doesn't mean they'll both be up tomorrow neccessarily (though stranger things have happened), but it might mean I'll get a little more sleep. I also managed to check out a copy of Horton Hatches the Egg, and then transcribe it at Lyzz's request, which brings me to my next point/question/thing.
Anyone know of a good html equivalent to tabbing? 'Cuz some of the format just doesn't look quite right without it. I mean, I can go with it anyway, but it'll feel a bit like cheating. Also, if someone could direct me to a download manager I could install on my USB thumb drive, I would be much obliged, because I can't think of how I'm going to get Cats Don't Dance otherwise. My previous plan - "Get in early on Friday and download as soon as I sign in, wait five hours, ????,profit watch animated musical kitties" - has been debunked due to Kirkwood being closed tomorrow, and Saturday and Sunday, so my current only hopes are a) find a download manager, or b) ask someone to/pray for someone to (re)upload it, possibly in smaller chunks (with HJ Split or something) so I can actually manage to get all of it instead of waiting four hours and the lab closing while I've still got half an hour left. What, me desperate? What ever gave you that idea? Just because I finally have the chance to get my hands on a(n admittedly bootleg) copy of the animated movie I never got a chance to see in theaters but fell in love with from the commercials and when it was on Cartoon Network and now that chance is rapidly flying out the window doesn't mean you should start jumping to conclusions like that. Really. I'm not desperate at all.

Date: 2007-04-06 01:14 am (UTC)I don't know of any download managers at all. :( But I could try downloading the movie and using HJ Split on it, if no one else volunteers. Or, if you have a Target, that's where I bought my DVD of it. It was a set, including both Cats Don't Dance and Quest For Camelot for about $10.
Unrelatedly, I will probably be using these icons almost non-stop for quite some time. :D Also I am download a filmed-in-theater version for more iconing fun! (Don't give me that look, I'm going to buy it when it comes out, too. D:)

Date: 2007-04-06 01:20 am (UTC)Alas D: But that would be awesome and I would love you forever and a day and then some more and might even sign over a(nother) piece of my soul to you and stuff. ...Target will wait for when I have money. And I'll probably end up getting Sky High first anyway, which I really only want because I found the actor who played Warren to be damn hot, yo.
XD Not that I blame you. (And I don't blame you for that, either.) Have already dropped hints to the 'rents re: watching it in theaters, but may end up going on my own on Friday while Tomas is gaming and said 'rents are out doing other things. Mom'd probably sponsor it, to ;)

Date: 2007-04-06 01:34 am (UTC)Okay. ^^; Could you just link me to the entry it's in? I don't think I ever looked at it, since I do have it on DVD. Is that movie any good? Because I was wondering because well maybe you've heard of my superhero fetish? and I was like OMG SUPERHEROES but also I was worried because there is a good way to do superheroes, and there is a bad way to do superheroes. So I never actually got around to seeing it. Is it good?
Plz tell me it's good. D:Yaaaaaay. :DDD

Date: 2007-04-06 01:40 am (UTC)Can do :3b 'Specially since I had it linked in a private post so I wouldn't have to keep digging for it >_>... It's here. And if having a Business Plus account helps in any way, you can borrow mine, as I finally decided to try the One Month Trial Membership Offer :DDD!~ they kept sending me notices for ^^a Well. My entry on it is here, and really just the first paragraph is dedicated to it. Er. Don't go into it expecting a lot, and you should be okay? Rent it before you buy it or get a used copy? Or tell me what to use and I'll rip it once I get my own or something.
Harts for iconses go here? ♥♥♥

Date: 2007-04-06 02:06 am (UTC)Okay! I shall go and download it, then install this copy of HJ Split I've had sitting on my computer for a while. And actually, I was planning on using Mediafire, because that's really the only place my computer likes uploading to. Is that okay? Okay, I shall go read that then. I never really had any high expectations for it, just wondering if it was even worth watching. I'll probably just download it or something, as I have no idea how to rip DVDs either. XD
:DDD ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
I still need amusing keywords for this one. :/

Date: 2007-04-06 02:26 am (UTC)Thanks ^_^ If I ever get a character into CFUD, it shall happen! Also, it's a Simpsons reference :O
Homer: [looking towards the sky] Why have you forsaken me, God?! DD:
Marge: That's not God, that's just a waffle that got stuck to the ceiling. [scrapes waffle off ceiling with broom]
Homer: [falls on waffle and eats it] Mmmmm, sacrelicious....
Er. I'm probably paraphrasing a tad, but that's the gist.
