Defying probability
Apr. 16th, 2007 06:49 pmSo, against all odds (all odds being a Spontaneous Family Outing to an authentic Mexican restaurant, and if you don't believe that Iowa has them then you have never been here), I am actually in the computer lab and online before seven o'clock. And I don't even have to deal with a lecture from Dad or anything!
(For the record, the conversation would go like this:
Socchan: I'm going to the computer lab, see you later!
Dad: Wait! First do these three chores, then you can go.
Socchan: ...D: *does the chores* Okay, chores are done, going to the lab, see ya!
Dad: What time to you plan to be back?
Socchan: .oO(I'm going to want as much time in the lab as possible, so probably until it closes.) Uh, ten o'clock?
Dad: :/ Three hours, huh? That's an awful lot of time to spend in front of a computer.
Socchan: ...So it is! Why, I hadn't even thought of that!
Dad: I just don't think it's very healthy.
Socchan: .oO(...Yeah, that kinda occured to me a while ago. Better just play dumb.) Well, you know how it is. *noncommittal noises*
Dad: Okay, go.
Socchan: *escapes, thank you merciful God!*)
Anyway, restaurant. A very nice place, over all, called La Rayna [The Queen]. The food was quite tasty, but what probably made the biggest impression on me was the music. The waiter said it was something/one called Las Cinco Estaciones [The Five Seasons]. I need their music now, despite the fact that almost none of my one semester of Spanish stuck. (I'll just look up the lyrics online...)
Stopped by CVS pharmacy this afternoon and noticed they had some shirts for sale. Plain white long-sleeved t-shirts for $3.33 each; I snatched a few up :3 No sense in letting a good bargain go to waste, especially if I can then Pass My Savings Onto The Consumer! Or whatever.
Woke up this morning from some very bizarre dreams. I can only describe them as bad Avatar fanfiction, except that I was dreaming them. I think I can possibly blame this on my having watched the Avatar School Shipping Special for the first time yesterday, but even that might be stretching things. I can hardly remember any of the details, except that they were pretty bad.
Aaaand that's all I have right now. I'm sure I had more, but I can't remember it. (T-shirt calculation, which may go up in a post shortly, does not count. It is a separate issue.) If I do remember, I guess I'll make an edit or something. And now, I'm off to figure out how Meebo works ¦Db
Edit: *is now signed into MSN* Niiiifty....
Edit 2: Oh yeah, that's what it was! I was going to talk about how much Sugiura Shiho owns my soul, and how the lot of you should be reading Silver Diamond and Koori no Mamono no Monogatari yesterday, and how pretty her art is and funny her stories are, and how I really shouldn't go looking for fanworks of it, as I am sure to be disappointed. Or something. Anyway, read her work! *will upload*
Edit 3: I am now officially looking forward to St. George's Day :Db

Date: 2007-04-17 12:50 am (UTC)And confusing, but! XDWas confused by the Yesterday in the title. ^^;
Series I'm thinking about is called "Sing Yesterday for me" and is about a young man who works in a convenience store and dreams of becoming a great photograph. Comes along this strange girl with a pet crow who decides she's been in love with him since she met him at a bus stop, but he still has a crush on his college classmate who's now a teacher.
Is a very mellow series and it also deals with the issues of becoming an art student/artist and so on, which is why it grabbed me when my sister lent me the first three books. (It hits near home what.)
It helps that I found the art really pretty (and come on, it starts with the dude in his boxers getting out of bed at four am XD *shameless*)
*Googles*
Sing "Yesterday" for me
イエスタデイをうたって "Yesterday wo Utatte" by Kei Toume
... Oh shoot, Kei Toume seems to be an author who likes to take his time. D: There I was dying for the following book. >_>;
Oh well, is still very much love! ♥

Date: 2007-04-17 12:59 am (UTC)Ah, okay ^^a That wasn't so much a part of the title as it was an indication of what time I think people should have read it by. As in, "I think the stories are so good that starting to read them now isn't good enough, you should have started yesterday."
Huh. I'll have to look into that, then.

Oups, my bad!
Had wondered why the yesterday was italicized. Teach me to still be up at 2am >_>;;*hugs* do if you can. I'd recommend to lots of people (if I weren't plain lazy. *sigh*)
