(Hopefully) Penultimate Shirt Post
Apr. 18th, 2007 08:02 pmProbable final cost list. Going to want to double-check/more thoroughly investigate some of this, esp. shipping stuff, but other than that, pretty final.
Heins/Fruit of the Loom undershirts:
$3.50 for pre-made, pre-washed shirt; weigh 5oz each.
United States shipping price for one: $1.35
Canada and Mexico shipping price for one: $7.50 (or $1.70, need to investigate)
Overseas shipping price for one: $9.50 (or $4.65, need to investigate)
Faded Glory/other 'good quality' t-shirts:
$8.00 for pre-made, pre-washed shirt; weigh 7oz each.
United States shipping price for one: $1.83
Canada and Mexico shipping price for one: $7.50 (or $2.20, need to investigate)
Overseas shipping price for one: $9.50 (or $6.55, need to investigate)
Transfers:
$1.25 for pre-printed transfer (assumed 1oz or less).
United States shipping price for one: $0.53
Canada and Mexico shipping price for one: $0.63
Overseas shipping price for one: $0.84
Long-sleeved t-shirts: (Limited time item?)
$4.75 for pre-made, pre-washed shirt; weigh 12oz each.
Haven't checked shipping rate for this yet; I only have three shirts anyway.
How-to-order plans:
The easiest way to go at the moment would probably be a screened post where people can leave their addresses & orders; I can reply to their comments (and then re-screen them) when I ship the shirts out.
This brings up the issue of payment. One solution is for the buyer to send me a check/money order upon recieving the shirt, using the return address on the package/envelope. Another option is for them to leave their e-mail in the innitial order comment, and I can send my mailing address via the internet. The second option affords less wait for me (probably), and the added insurance that they'll get my address when they get the shirt. Neither option allows for me to get the money before sending the shirt, though the second option is closer.
Third option would be to wait to send the shirts until I get the money, which would be much easier on all involved (as well as involving a much shorter wait) if I had PayPal. Thiiiis might not be happening any time soon.
Extra note:
Anyone I have the chance to meet in person (example: At Anime Central) has the option of getting the shirt and paying for it in person, and thus not having to pay shipping costs. This has the downside of having very few set dates to choose from (unless people decide to spontaneously drop in on me, which is probably more expensive than the shipping would be), but has the upside of me being all fangirly in person? It has the further option of "You bring your own shirt, pay for the transfer, and I'll let you use my iron + pillowcase(s) 8D"
Was also originally planning on giving a free t-shirt (or at least a couple free transfers) to people I'd gotten shirt ideas from, and probably one each to the mods as well what with them being awesome, but I don't think I'll be able to afford that if I'm just selling at cost. Best I can probably do is to send an extra transfer with an order to either the one group or the other :/ Sad fangirl.
...Though I could probably set up a gift thing.
I dunno, if anyone feels like adding their two cents in on the potential order/delivery bit, feel free. Other than that, I think I may go with the second option. And maybe I should make people look up their own postage, too... It would certainly save me some trouble...
