Wrongderful Interests and Comics
May. 1st, 2007 08:36 pmIt's journal update time, go!
First of all, I've got some new interests in the ol' list now:
Gliese 581 c (only two people interested in this, wth)
The God Eaters
tree suffrage
Zach Braff: superhero
And also passive activism, but that's less interesting. I'm willing to go on at length for any of these, should anyone prove interested. Also, I find it criminal that only nine people have The God Eaters listed as an interest. Read the book and intrestify it DD: If anyone still needs a link to it, you can find one on my List of Best Things Ever, which is now on its thirty-eighth Best Thing :Db
And now I'm going to change the subject completely to American Comics!
I. I recently read through number fourteen of The Blue Beetle? And not only is it an awesome comic, I got a very, very wrongderful fic idea for it. Which I definitely shouldn't write. Absolutely not. But the rest of you should start reading the comic if you haven't already! (Most fun I've had in the DCU since Young Justice, I'm tellin' you.)
In closing, I'd like to wish you all a happy cross-quarter day, and shove a meme I yoinked from
lyzzle at you:
1. Comment in this post with a pairing, a character, or a threesome.
2. I shall write you back a paragraph explaining what I think about it (good, bad, indifferent) and why.
3. Let's discuss / argue / CAPSLOCK at each other about it! I only ask that you don't get insulted, angry, mean, or stupid.
4. I promise not to use the words "EWWW GROSS" even if that's what I'm thinking.

Date: 2007-05-02 08:49 pm (UTC)I like the possibilities that this arrangement presents. I'm pretty sure that I liked Kaito/Aoko since I first read the manga, and then Icka slowly corrupted me to the wonders of Black-and-White, and, well, not only was Hakuba's crush thing on Aoko cute, it was canon. I feel like the two of them could work very well, in fact, if given a chance.
Threesomes are really hard to explain and justify in the best of times. It's because they're more than just three pairings of two people stuck together for convenience (even if they do start out that way). As far as Kaito, Aoko and Hakuba go, I feel they have a dynamic that could work well together.
For Aoko, she has Kaito to bring the magic to her life, the unpredictability, and Hakuba as a more lawful presence.
For Hakuba, Kaito is a challenge to who and what he is, something different to make him work harder and bring him out of his shell; Aoko is there to make the process easier, and to make sure he doesn't forget himself in the process - an anchor of sorts, to make sure he doesn't get too wrapped up in chasing Kaito.
For Kaito, Aoko is someone who's always been there for him, a comforting presense and something he wants to protect - but also someone who can be a moral compass of sorts for him, remind him why he's Kid in the first place; Hakuba keeps him in line, be it on the job or in street clothes, and is a stable influence in Kaito's life, something the boy dearly needs. He can lean on Hakuba in a way he can't rely on Aoko, if only because they have different ways of relating to each other, just as Aoko probably knows him better than Hakuba.
It's because they all have different meanings to each other that I feel it could work, that they could really create a sort of 'balance' together; it wouldn't be just two people with a third on the side, or one person who's seeing two, it would be three people who are genuinely interested in one another. And that, I think, is why I like them together.
...Good gravy, that got loooong o_O Er. The floor is now open? PS: Any chance you can get Friday the 11th off for ACen? If not, that's cool too, but I'd like to know ahead of time so I can make travel plans.

Date: 2007-05-04 12:43 am (UTC)I don't know, I love polyamorous relationship but OT3 is my personnal limit. I love to see a relationship taking place in an intimate and private space, I could picture that with two or three people implied, but with four or more..Well, it's too open to be an intimate space anymore for me...^__^; XD
Well, just my tastes and I don't know if I made myself clear.
(Except maybe in a fandom like Ouran when you could create a giant orgie of doom without problem...XD)
ps: Dagronrat is the creator.^_-

Date: 2007-05-04 12:53 am (UTC)Makes sense; reverse harem series are one thing, but after three people, the bed does start to get a little crowded ;) I mean, I've seen people make it work, but it definitely takes more effort than an OT3, and that already takes more effort than an OTP, so.
PS: Awesome ♥
