Weird... For the first time since I started coming to the Kirkwood computer lab in the evenings, there's more than four people here. In fact, there's at least five times that many. And they all seem to be typing things in Word. (I can only assume that some teacher has a big assignment due, but I haven't asked.) Makes me feel kinda unproductive ^^a

Anyway, spent quite a while taking screencaps from Avatar over the past few days with the intent of making icons. Also had some leftover Bleach icons that I never actually got around to posting, so I figured I'd slap those up as well. Take a look, nab if you want (though plz to credit somewhere - keywords, comments, whatever).

Okay, remember in the third Bleach ending (Houki Boshi, I think), where they went by with pictures of all the captains in rainbow colors? Yeah. Screencapped the lot of 'em, made icons. Took a while, too, 'cuz they never showed all of the captains in one ending.

Kinda wanted to make an animated icon of all of 'em, but I know diddly-squat about actually animating. Was also tempted to make a Soul Society is Love colorbar, but figured there were too many, so opted out of that one.


Moving right along, for lyzzle: art and icons.

See, the other day we were talking, and one thing lead to another, which lead to me saying I thought Jet looked like Kiba when I first saw him. Which lead to the question of what sort of dogs they had in the Avatar world, the comment that poodle-monkey was the only one we could think of (and what did it look like anyway?) and the comment that an armadillo dog would be just darn cute, and eventually Lyzz writing fic which I still need to review, ahaha, faaaiiil ¦D and me drawing the animals in question.

Anyway. Poodle-monky:


I basically figured it would look like a monkey with poodle hair? Yes, this includes the French poodle cut, because I am a dork and Mom is a geek. (Aparently, poodles were once used to smuggle lace out of France; it was hidden under the hair where you see it cut in the classic fashion today.)

Armadillo-dog:


Went through three and a half drawings to get this one to where I wanted. As per usual, I eventually decided that I liked the first best, and the rest could hang themselves. Not perfect, as I still semi-fail at drawing animals, but not bad either.

In the process of drawing the armadillo-dog, I kinda watched Aang's Tale in Tales of Ba Sing Se, and found the following pet animals at the end ^^a


So I guess I eventually found some more, though I have no idea what (m)any of them are called unless the one's a Sheep-Dog.

Also, some icons based on a quote of Lyzz's from a few weeks ago, when she found out about new episodes of Avatar being shown on Friday. Didn't ever find the perfect image, but found several that would do. Made several versions of each:

...In hindsight, it probably would've worked better (or just as well) for the second in each set without the extra circle around the text, but I ain't changin' 'em now. Hope you find one you can live with, Lyzz.

I mean, haven't you ever wondered? (This also continues my trend of shoving my own thoughts and sometimes opinions *guilt* onto helpless characters. I feel really bad for those two icons, but not so bad that I wasn't going to post 'em.)

I was thinking of you, Jeva. 'Cuz you said that you didn't really have a 'foot-in-mouth' icon, and I did, so I had to be there whenever you needed to use it. Don't kill me.

Finally, because I am a thing that cannot resist, JetLi icons. And, uh, things that I want to be JetLi icons someday, but don't yet have the capacity to make into JetLi icons. You get the idea.

I ended up photoshopping the grass stem in, because I am a dork like that. And anyone who accuses me of being obsessed can jump in a lake. (Which is why I'm not yet posting these to jetheartszuko; when I make a few more and they can be part of a larger batch, then they will go up there.) The fact that I came up with an even better ending for Oral Fixation has no relevence. Even if it is a really hilarious idea and would potentially allow me to expand it into a lemon. I'd end up feeling like that was all I wrote or thought about, and I don't want that sort of limit placed on me, especially by myself. Plus, I don't imagine it would get many reviews.
Using the more ambiguous one for myself, since I seem to like making people think harder.

Anyway, to prove that it's not all I think about, two things that I want to turn into icons eventually (but the text turned out too small when I tried, so I'm putting it off until I maybe learn to animate):

This one I'm much happier with. Really want to make an icon of it.


This would be followed by some fic rambling, but I'm running low on time, so I'mma cut this short. Plus, I don't know how close I'm getting to the character limit. So I guess I'll save that for later.

Awww. The armadillo-dog is so cute! ^__^ I want one! I can totally see Jet having one of those.

As for the "cancel social life" icons, I'm stealing the second Toph one for now. Once my torrents finish (*glares at Azureus*) I'll go through and see if I can find any other potential caps. I may end up making a text-only version. XD;

I love all your other icons, too. (And those screencaps are priceless. :DDD That second one is totally what I was thinking when I watched that episode.) And I'm stealing the 4th JetLi one. Thinking up witty keywords for it now. XD;;

PS: So, a little while later, Jet and Zuko are ...recovering, and Jet is chewing on the grass again. So Zuko says to him, "What the hell are you doing with that thing, anyway?" And Jet just grins and pulls it out, and there's a(t least one) knot in it :DDD *is terrible*

...Though, come to think of it, that one would also make a good short comic.

From what I'm aware, pretty much? Though they're doing amazing things with plants. And they made a pig that produced human blood.

PS: So does Socchan, in general, but she rather prefers finished oneshots to unfinished longfics. It wants lots and lots of cameos from other characters, and Toph in charge of Omashu and preggers!Katara working too hard and people hovering over her worriedly (sometimes literally, coughcoughAangcoughcough), and when I told it that yeah, I could do it, but I wouldn't be able to find an ending for it it handed me a plot DDD:

PS: Yeah, I thought so. Maybe I should just do both. And Katara and Aang would totally have a three-year-old traveling the world with them already. Or something. Depends on what point in time I start the fic, 'cuz it wants to be a huge, sprawling, rebuilding-the-Fire-Nation-after-the-war thing. And I have only one thing to say to that: :DDDD (Though I'm also wondering how Suki would take living in the South Pole.)

It will probably take more than a few years to rebuild the Fire Nation? You could have start it towards the end of the reconstruction.
...Actually, when I said running the Water Tribe, I meant the entire Water Tribe. Like. From the North Pole. And I have the logic typed up in semi-coherent fashion, so if you're not too freaked out by my idea, let me know, and I'll copy-paste it.

PPS: Um. Maybe. Once I've done some tweaking. D: Also, yes, personalities. Mostly. One of them's only like 2 so I dunno yet. But i can tell you it's two boys and a girl. It would have been 3 boys and a girl, because you totally know Suki would make them keep having kids until they had a girl, but I felt sorry for Sokka.

PS: That's what I'd thought you'd say XD They so would. And it would be an over-eager child who got into everything and Katara would have eyes in the back of her head and be able to pull it out of trouble at the last minute. It probably wouldn't talk much, though. At least, not yet.
Very true. For the longfic, I figured I'd just pick it up about half a year after the war ended, at about the point in time when Zuko is forced to decide that he actually needs Jet around (though not yet for romantic reasons), and then stretching on for a number of years. (The shortfic version would just be Jet and Zuko disagreeing about something politics-wise, and then making up. In bed ♥♥♥ Which could potentially take place somewhere in the same world/timeline.)
...I would be very interested in hearing all about this :DDD

PS: ♥♥♥ Oh man. That would be awesome. It'd be all like, 'ooh pretty sabertooth moose thing' and Katara'd be all, 'this looks like a job for Super Mom!' and 'WHAM! BOOM! KAPUNCH!' and save the day. I want it to be a girl. With pigtails. ♥

....Okay so, like. A couple years down the road, the king/chieftain guy of the Water Tribe is mortally injured/terminally ill/dying/whatever and everybody's like, "Oh shit there's no heir," and I'm kinda assuming after the falling-off-the-Fire-Nation-ship-and-indirectly-causing-the-death-of-the-moon-spirit-and-also-kinda-Yue thing, Hahn (or whatever his name was) went into exile out of shame and guilt and what have you. So the king, being a brilliant and kind and awesome but dying ruler, is all like, "Make that Sokka kid my heir. It's what Yue would have wanted." And Sokka's all like, "Sweet action!" but Suki's all, "Hell no we are not raising our kids in the North Pole it's too cold and stuff" and Sokka's all like, "Hey I was raised in a cold place and look how I turned out!" And there's an awkward silence. Or something. I dunno.

I'm afraid the names I've made up aren't Asian-sounding enough, but here goes.
Oldest boy: Meso (MAY-soh), but everybody just calls him Mes. Named after Suki's great-great-grandfather or something. Helpful and independent, maybe a waterbender. He helps take care of the younger kids. A little naive/dense. Like his dad~!
Second boy: Talin (Tahl-en). Roughly 2-4 years younger than Meso, but undeniably smarter. Not a bender. Occasionally feels like he's not good enough/inferior to Meso because of this. Kind of a Momma's boy. He really loves to hear Uncle Aang tell stories of their adventures.
Only girl (for now): La. Born on the night of a full moon (yeah I just made that up right now go me), so named in honor of Yue (kinda). She's only about 2 right now, so not much developed personality yet. Still, right now she's playful and hyperactive. And she likes cookies. Will grow up into a daddy's girl and maybe a tomboy. I haven't decided if she's a bender or anything.
...If there's a 2nd girl, she will have been born a princess and probably really spoiled. XD
