The Tooth of the matter...

soc_puppetDay three sans wisdom teeth. Cheeks have reached maximum swelling. Gums still feel slightly raw/stringy. Sockets have gone from mildly sore to really mildly sore. Jaw muscles are beginning to consider the idea that chewing things need not be a painful experience. Remaining teeth feel really damn weird in the jaw.
Managed to attend last AI meeting, but will probably try to duck in on Ranger Training anyway, Just In Case. (Altered states of consciousness and all that.) Friends page is waaaay backed up. The only thing I know about voting so far is that we now have a Guybrush Threepwood, which could not make me happier, and that other characters from my canon have yet to show up in the lineup. (I could well be wrong on both of these counts, since my last (and, thus far, only) check of the first three posts this round was last night on my brother's DS.)
Inbox is currently mostly filled with AI staff e-mails; will have to "read" and move them.
Being without wisdom teeth has gotten me the following things: lots of yogurt, ice cream and even some pudding; lots of bed rest and making people wait on me hand and foot; lots of sleep; and copies of Rising Stars of Manga 07, Venus Versus Virus 01, and Iono-sama [the] Fanatics 01. The first one makes me worry slightly about my skill level and the competition (and also, as continuing from when it was first announced, what the !#@#$^$# category I should try and match any of my stories into); the last has some ...fairly minor translation issues, but is important to me in that I really want to make Iono's costume (either Hollyhock or Blue Emblem, depending on which translation you have) for a con eventually, 'cuz it's pretty and stuff; and the middle one is just plain fun, yanno? Also, chock full of Yuri subtext, as opposed to the overt-text of Iono-sama (still fun, but again, translation issues). Haven't heard word about the quality of translation of VVV, but am hopeful, as Seven Seas has reportedly done well with other books so far.
On the squickier side of the Yuri force, TokyoPop has licensed Kannadzuki no Miko, which is... Okay, I'll level with you: I tried to like it, I really did! I gave it a good six episode to pull me in enough to make me want to watch the rest. But the characters were never sold on me (aside from one one awesome maid, whom I adore, but she is still not enough for me to watch the whole series for I'm Pretty Damn Sure), and the story kinda flopped on me without them, so. Also, ew. Ew ew ew. People considering getting into yuri? Plz to consider buying something else first DD: In fact, specifically pick up Hayate x Blade, which 7S has recently announced licensing ♥♥♥ HxB is SO MUCH FUN, and by an ultra awesome manga-ka to boot.
Strangely enough, the Good Drugs seem to do very little for my creative state, which I find somewhat saddening. In fact, more than a little saddening. I wanted to have cool, crazy fic ideas too! DD: But so far I've gotten nothing new, and only really repeats of the cracky ideas I had before the operation, le sigh. I shouldn't be taking the meds much longer either. I suppose I may have to consider myself lucky.
And now, after having blabbed on for too long mostly about yuri comics and little else, I feel I will close this post, and attempt to catch up elsewhere ¦Db Links to important posts you have written in the past few days would be awesome, but I may run over them anyway. Hopefully back at full power tomorrow-ish.
