So. Watched episode eight today.

THE HELL DID YOU MAKE ME WATCH THIS ANIME FOR ANYWAY.

I mean, yes, drills and giant robots and shounen retards, but still! I don't want to have to go into denial this soon in a series, it's not healthy!



That said, I'm already mentally re-writing the series so That Didn't Happen. And/or writing AU ending fic where It Isn't Like That.

In short, haaaaaet.

Edit: FOR THE RECORD. If I was going to drop the series like it was out of fashion, I would've done it right after episode eight, and not gone on to watch nine and ten in hopes of it getting cheerier. So no, not dropping the series. Watching through to the end.

TRUFAX: I almost dropped the series after episode 8, but people nagging me to watch moar/the fact that I wanted to see Nia kept me going and I didn't regret it in the least. S-Sadly it had to happen for the story to progress. ._.

Er. Well. This is dependent on your thoughts on um. Kamina/Simon. gattailove (a community for the aforementioned pseudo-incest pairing cough cough keywords) is the only place I've seen it, since it's the only community I've actually looked at. This will change! A-as soon as I finish it.

My feelings on that particular pairing are: Mixed! While I'm pretty sure my canon-whore of a heart belongs to Yoko/Kamina, the slash fangirl in me continues to be unable to deny the other. ...The OT3-er in me is still undecided. Canon-whore generally tops, but can be easily distracted by shinies.

I love Yoko/Kamina, too. I also have this thing where I don't believe it's impossible for both to exist! And then still, I also approve of OT3. And Simon/Nia. Because how can you not. I'm also quite fond of post-timeskip!Simon/Viral.

I-I actually thought it was a appropriate and kind of needed for the movement of the plot and story-wise... yeah. H-he wouldn't have been able to fit in with what else happens in the story, sadly enough.

Actually, no. It had to be this way. This is another person's story. And if this event didn't happen that other person wouldn't have come to realize who he was and what he was capable of. Because he was always following behind that person, always in that person's shadow. Sadly enough, in a lot of ways the other person will always be in that person's shadow, but at least he has the will to carry on now, despite everything.

I dunno. I just... can accept it easier. Even if I did bawl when I watched that episode. D:

The plot is a wonderful thing to watch it for, but you're going to get attached to the characters whether you like it or not--THIS IS THE KIND OF SERIES THAT DOES THAT TO YOU. EVIDENCE: EPISODE 8.

I will not deny this! H-however, ten episodes in, my interest in the plot still outweighs my interest and investment in the characters.

Which is why I'm totally going to write at least one flash fic wherein it is All A Lie and she and Kamina can naow go have hot sexx0rz. After that, I will probably be able to live.
