I have returned from Anime Central! Here is the short version of how my days went down:
* Wednesday: the day before I left for the con. Stayed up all night, first to finish my costume/prop (first zipper!), then to finish packing/buy food, then just because it was already really early in the morning and why sleep three and a half hours when I was just going to leave at five-thirty, really?
* Thursday: Left the house at ass-early o'clock. Managed to nab a few minutes of sleep on the ride to Chicago, but not really that much. Ended up getting hotel space at the last minute (and thanking my last-minute hostess with a chocolate Death Note I had packed Just In Case) and then lazing around the hotel for entirely too long. Went to sleep around 9:00.
* Friday: Ate free hotel breakfast (♥!), then reported to registration line at 9:30. Was then stuck in said registration line for nine and a half hours. Miraculously managed to keep relatively positive about the whole thing, especially with $10 off the at-con reg price for my trouble and in comparison to the rest of the line-waiters, but am still swearing to pre-reg and apply for mail-in badge next year(?). Never wanna go through that again, and if it means angsting online about whether my badge gets lost in the mail or not, so be it.
* Saturday: No free breakfast. Avatar photoshoot at the same time as CFUD meeting was scheduled, so I went to the former with only mild hopes of finding the latter after. Which, in fact, I did! Hung out with CFUD people five hours or so, then got some shopping done in the Dealers Room for the first time that con. Also worked on my blister.
* Sunday: Packed up and got a little more shopping done. Got home in time for the concert. The end(?).
* OVERALL: Not nearly as many Johnny Cash jokes as I would've liked, given my flaming hula hoop.
It was really more complicated than that, but I'm short on time at the moment, so. Next thing!
IN THIS POST: I want you to comment to this post with a request of any sort - reasonable, unreasonable, impossible, whatever! Hell, you can make as many as you want! I will then reply to your comment with an assertive "no", since I need to practice denying requests. This will be less because I want to deny you what you want, and more because I want to get in the habit of ignoring people in malls when they try and get my attention to make me buy things.
Tomorrow, I may make an "Ask me hard questions" post that I will have to resist the urge to answer until the day after. I will get this right! *dramatic pose*
Edit: Adgjsdlfkwd guys. GUYS. There's a new group that's started scanlating Ushio and Tora! Jeez, I've been wanting scanlations of this series forever! ...Oh, and it happened a while ago, but Storm in Heaven picked up Koori no Mamono no Monogatari, which means Essence of Purity is no longer scanlating it. This makes me happy on many small, petty levels, but mostly on a quality whore level.
