After digging up needles, purchasing yarn, looking up how to purl (again), and over the course of a number of days, my roommate Chris has knitted approximately two or three rows of a scarf for his girlfriend.
After getting itchy fingers from all the people doing yarn stuff in my general vicinity (adlfjsd bus drivers), managing to pick out a couple hooks from a box of pencils and the like in my old room, purchasing a pound of yarn from Ben Franklin's and over the course of about an hour to an hour and a half, I've crocheted approximately twelve rows of a scarf for me.
The pirate in me is rejoicing pettily in this small, insignificant victory over the ninja (while still acknowledging that a number of ninjas on my f'list could kick my ass well and soundly out of the water).
Also purchased Demigods and Monsters at Waldenbooks today, which is a collection of works about (in?) the Percy Jackson universe. I hope to like it. I also feel kinda bad that none of the authors who have contributed other than the editor seem at all familiar to me. Uh. Whoops?Needs moar Coville.
Edit: Upon closer examination, it definitely appears to be more a collection of essays than of short stories, which is what I'd originally assumed. Still hope to enjoy it.
