I think I maybe got a bit caught up in the hate culture for the first one, er. I'm trying to get better, really!

As to the second, yes, the rage is very understandable and I've definitely got some of my own, but I love the series and I want to give the movies a chance regardless, s-so. I'm going to do my best! ;_;bbb

For the first one, I've seen some of the hate culture and have also read excerpts from it and... was very discouraged from reading it. Also, it's so damn popular that I just am not interested. *does this with EVERYTHING SHE KNOWS* If something's already MASSIVELY and INSANELY popular and I can't see immediately what would be so interesting about it... I tend to avoid it. Which is also why I never got around to watching Avatar until the series was over and everyone cooled off from the OMG AWESOMENESS of it.

Yeah, I've mostly gotten the same impression? But at the same time, I've also gotten the idea that one of the reasons for the hate culture is because of how popular it is, and how many people are saying it's good/fantastic/teh best romance evar!!1!etc. While I'm not personally interested in reading or watching it, from what clues I've managed to scrape together, the first one doesn't sound much worse than your average serial romance novel. And then. It. Just kinda explodes after that -_-a

Yeah, you've actually mentioned that before ¦D;;; These days, I try and mostly keep my mouth shut re: converting new Avatar fans in general, since I've learned well enough that it can hurt more than help. Also notice how I try and keep quiet about it around you/other non-enthusiasts in general, as if I'm hoping that the black hole formed by me not talking about it very much/at all will somehow suck you in gravitationally or something. ...I am a weird person.
