Basless Opinion

soc_puppetJust got back from Avengers. Was very entertained. Two and a half hours well spent, that.
Some brief spoilery thoughts:
I am disappoint that Coulson got fridged :( He was a good character, and while I didn't have any particular shipping inclinations with him myself, I know a lot of folks did, and I feel for 'em/you. It sucks when your ship gets sunk.
At the same time, I am very quietly and guiltily glad that at least it wasn't a woman who got the fridge this time.
Simultaneous with both of those feelings, I've already lined up a mental hand-wave for all the fics that just got (literally?) Jossed here (because if Fury was willing to lie about the location of the cards in the name of team bonding, what else might he have lied about, and isn't that the easiest way around that inconvenience I can come up with on short notice).
...I have potentially Unfunny thoughts on Hawkeye, particularly WRT: the Iowa thing (I'm guessing it's comics canon?) and heritage. Because if it's not a reference to Iowa, which is in turn, according to our Wiki overlords, a reference to Chief Black Hawk (note to self: double-check with Dad), then I should like to know so I can stop worrying about it so much. And if it is a reference to Iowa and Chief Black Hawk, then I should like to know Barton's canonical ethnic heritage and whether he does (or can) identify as Native American. Because I am a humorless feminist nag who likes to ruin everything for everyone forever.
Finally, I was totally judging everyone who left the movie theater before the shawarma scene. I mean, not very hard, but they still missed out.
And now I'm going to go read everyone else's spoilerific thoughts on the movie. Whee, fun times!
