soc_puppet | Amigurumi photo dump

Remember how I've been talking about setting up a separate journal for crochet patterns and the like, except I couldn't decide on a name? I finally picked one:

hooked_on_anime 'Cuz of, you know, crochet hooks, and how I make a lot of fannish stuff. Anime is a little generic, but whatever. (I thought about using anime_hooker, but since I'm primarily making it to have a single address to pass out at AI, and we like to advertise ourselves as a family friendly convention, I don't think it would be a good idea, particularly as a staffer ^^a)

Anyhow, I've also got some pictures to share, starting with one I finished earlier this afternoon :)

Some of you may remember my first try at Kero-chan a year and a half ago. Well, having improved my skills over that time, and having bought a larger ball of yarn to work with, I've made a new one ♥

From the front. I remembered to make his mouth smaller this time ^^a

From the back ♥ His wings look fantastic this time around, as opposed to the "pretty decent" of last time.

For comparison's sake:

Yeah, I've totally improved. I'm trying to decide whether I want to look for a good home for Kero-chan 1.0 or not... On the one hand, sentimental value. On the other hand, I'm a cold-hearted perfectionist. Decisions, decisions...

In other news, Kero-chan 2.0's pattern should be going up on

hooked_on_anime pretty soon ^_^

This is the piggy I sent to Tot's mom about a month ago. (I hope it got there--!)

Classic front and side views. Nostrils are a little lopsided when compared to the eyes, but it's cute enough that I think most people would forgive that ^^a I also got totally lazy on the ears and just made little tiny chain loops. I may come up with a pattern in the event that I make a new one. It was totally fun to make, too :3

...This is something I almost threw in with it, but uh decided against it in the end.

Anyhow, that's all there is for now. I've got more to make, and more photos to take, and patterns to write/type up, but I'm done until then :3b
