[Content Note: pregnancy phobia, rape]

See, here's the thing. I have Mpreg Abortion Fic 2 all nice and outlined, except the middle bit. It was (is?) going to go: Scene 1, Derek and Stiles decide they want kids and Derek offers to do the pregnancy thing; Scene 2, HORRIBLE NIGHTMARE; Scene 3, Derek wakes up and pukes his guts out, Stiles comforts him, they decide to abort and go for a different option for having kids.

I'm still working out the details of the nightmares. From the insignificant amount of research I've done, I'm aware that many uterus-having victims of (presumably PIV) rape develop a phobia of pregnancy. Given that, by the rules of mpreg, Derek is a penis-having victim of rape (twice now, plus general hostility to his bodily autonomy, see: link), I'm not entirely sure how my original plans would play out here.

The plan was that Derek would offer to carry the kid because old Hale family secret or something, which only works on werewolves for some hand-wavey reason. Since he was aware that mpreg was a possibility before he and Stiles made the decision, would he have been having nightmares before getting pregnant or not, d'you think? Would he have had a pre-established pregnancy phobia and thought he'd be able to overcome it, since he's the one making the decision about his body, or would he not even have thought of pregnancy as something he would freak out about prior to actually getting pregnant (or going through the steps to get pregnant)? If I do go for pregnancy nightmares, what, exactly, would they involve? (That one relies mostly on me doing more research, of course.)

...Come to think of it, this would be a good thing to talk to my beta reader about.
